Horrible service (Calle Avila)
Last saturday we've had lunch in Petit Bangkok at Calle Avila. I made a reservation for 10 pax but I called at 11h to ask if it would be a problem if more people would come. The guy on the phone said there was no problem. When we all arrived the staff was very stressed and told at least 10 times to different people that 14 pax was too much. When I said I called earlier to ask if it would be ok, he went to the guy I had on the phone earlier and this guy (in purple shirt) almost screemed at me that he didn't said that.. They treated us so badly for the fact that we brought 4 extra clients which is unbelievable, especially bacause there were 2 empty tables next to us all this time. And we said many times we don't mind to sit close together. 14 pax easily fitted. Anyway I think you shouldn't talk so badly to customers.
And besides that I had to pay 23 euro extra because the payments didn't go so correctly with the guy that was handling the card payments. I didn't want to make a fuss about it after all because I didn't want to ruin the afternoon with my friends.
About the food, nothing too special but it was good. It's a pity the service was so bad otherwise we would have given it another...
Read moreI was expecting authentic Thai food based on the reviews, but this feels more like a Thai inspired place rather than a true Thai restaurant. The dishes are heavily adjusted for a Western palate and don’t resemble the traditional flavors at all. Some dishes are missing key ingredients, and others include items not typically used in Thai cooking.
For example, I ordered what I assumed was pad kra pao (holy basil stir fry), but it looked and tasted nothing like the traditional dish. There was no basil, even though it’s listed on the menu, and the dish had zucchini?!? which isn’t normally used in Thai cuisine. Whether it was a wrong order or just a deviation from tradition, it was disappointing. The fact that they used zucchini is bad enough.
The staff were friendly, but the place is more of a Thai inspired spot. The only authentic things is the beer they serve and some decorations. If you’re looking for genuine Thai flavors, I’d recommend...
Read moreVery bad experience This food is not the real Thai food. Ordered pad Thai and pad kapao. First of all they using way to much Thai soy sauce and less nuts in the pad Thai. The pad kapao is way to much salty wich is not nornal it real Thai food. I mention also there is no any Thai in the restuarant. A real Thai restuarant should be runned by real Thai people ! not by farangs or Spanish people! I'm half thai/dutch and speaking an reading 100% Thai. I have been 25 times in thailand and I have never seen this whorse Thai Restaurants in Europe. I'm notice now that people and specially farangs who giving a positive review never enjoined real Thai food and doesnt know what thai food is. Whe have been there 30 minutes ( record time) and leave the shop veery quikly because of the over crowded people who are screaming...
