The Coffee House Barcelona — Restaurant in Barcelona

The Coffee House Barcelona is easily among one of the city‘s premier cafés, complete with a sun soaked outdoor dining area on the corner of Carrer de Casanova y València, in addition to an exceptionally vivid, warm, and tranquil storefront interior.

This artisanal coffee shop is family owned and operated, with an impressive selection of beverages & bakery items that are crafted using in-house recipes. During my last visit to the Coffe House - with a near and dear friend and footie teammate - we sampled the Oreo chocolate chip cookies and brownies and to describe them as divine would simply be an understatement. I.e., I urge you to include a pastry or bakery item with your next order since they complement the overall experience immensely.

Their main dishes and entrées are also quite exquisite I might add. Lecker, gesund, und Füllung are the most appropriate adjectives that come to mind when recalling the avocado toast and açaí bowl. Two thumbs way up for the Coffee...

I believe reviewers and agree the food is good. Having said that, I also believed reviewers who said this was a place for a quick coffee and a bite to eat. I understand that restaurants get busy, but even after everyone left the outside seating area, the service remained discombobulated, which started with contradicting information regarding how to place the order (inside versus sitting at the table), and for reference I do speak Spanish fluently. Getting the menu and getting the server to come back to take the order took a very long time, and when the food finally arrived we requested a knife to cut the bagel sandwich so my girlfriend and I could share it. The knife was forgotten and arrived long after our coffee and other sandwich were gone. I understand the server can only take care of so many people, so the manager should employ more people, simple as that. If I only had one day in Barcelona, I would have been very upset for wasting such a long time...

This cafe was small, seating has been cleverly placed to ensure customer traffic flows easily. The counter-space and prep area looked small, but this didn’t stop the charming staff from preparing high quality meals. I ordered two cortados and their turkey sandwich with egg and avocado. The cortados came out fast and hot. My party, which ordered an iced latte and other food items- received their drinks at the same time as me, and their food at the same time. I was thoroughly impressed at the portion sizes and the quality of the food. My turkey sandwich ended up being about 8 inches in length and stacked tall with ingredients. My party’s food came out with a similarly gratuitous portion. At the end of the meal I only ended up paying 10 euro flat, which I felt was more than appropriate for the serving...
