We were here for diner and a evening soccer match. Since we wanted a good spot for the soccer match we were 1 hour early just to be sure to find a bar that would broadcast the match. We asked if the match would be broadcasted and they 100% confirmed this. However they said that they will only switch channels 5 minutes before time and here we became a bit suspisious. After a while more soccer fans came in and asked the same and were also suprised that the channel would not change at that moment, since there was currently only replays from old matches on the tv. We ordered some beers in the meantime which were big and okay for its price being at ramblas. However we wanted to eat something and we were in doubt if we wanted to order something and last minute the match could not be broadcasted. Luckily our gut feeling was right, since 5-10 minutes before time they were trying to switch channel only to find out that they did not have the right channel. Now we had a small group of soccer fans that were angry and in need to find a new spot in like 5-10 minutes.

We would also not recommend to eat here when there is live music. This place is really meant for late night music and dancing. We were sitting in the bar with a maximum of 15 people and the live music came on at around 20h. Instead of increase the volume little by little they just go full volume where you have difficulty in understanding each other and following a...

Been coming here for a long time now. Really great atmosphere. What pushed me to make this review is a bartender I met there recently. I never got his name, or perhaps I forgot in the blur that was that night, but his brown curly hair and his beard will never leave my mind. I thought his vibe was off to begin with. However, he completely changed my opinion on him the moment he set his gaze upon my eyes. Even though I don't speak good English to begin with and that, in my drunken stupor, I was heavily slurring my words, he made me feel like the Old Irish Pub was not a place where I would ever be judged for my extravagant antics. Entranced by his presence and even though I have never done anything with a guy before, I could not stop myself from asking for his number. He gracefully let me know he was not interested but he felt flattered by my interest in him. With a wink, he gave me my drink and told me to have fun tonight. It was an exhilarating exchange that I will treasure forever. If you ever see the bartender that stole my heart, please give...

Very bad system of security at the entrance of Old Irish pub. I am a black person who got discriminate at the entrance in front of everyone at the pub. Attitude unprofessional from the security personnel. We were 8 people. The whites get to go inside but black like me can't enter because the security personnel told me that it a private party. I was with Asian friends who they didn't let us enter in the "private party". Yesterday there no private party in the the pub. My Spanish friends who accompany me get to enter but when my turn came I couldn't go inside because now the pub turned into a "private party". One thing the old Irish pud have black boys as security and I was discriminate by the blacks personals. I saw what they did there, they place the black boys as security so they clean their reputation of being racist. I am a black boy ,gay too and my friend is a transgender Asian girl. So if you are abnormal in these way. They don't let you go inside because it a "private party" "Private party"= only white and non gay...

I’ve been traveling the world since 1989, and I can say without hesitation that this pub ranks in my top 10 of all time. It’s got that rare blend of character, charm, and atmosphere that you just can’t fake. The interior boasts a classic old-style setup with plenty of comfortable seating, making it a perfect place to settle in and soak up the vibe. The layout is impressive, with multiple bars spread throughout, a dedicated stage for live music or performances, and even an upstairs bar area that adds a whole new dimension to the space. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They bring the whole experience together and make you feel right at home. From the ambiance to the service, this venue is absolutely superb. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates a great pub done right.

Really good place. Love the music, drinks, service and the dance floor. I had a period when i was going there literally every night for 4 days and everything was super good. One day the guy who was taking the empty glasses away took our 3 *not finished* cocktails so i called him. He was searching for them in a sink but in the end he made for us absolutely new 3 cocktails for free and i was surprised. It’s normal thing in my country but not in the Barca, usually the services are here really low quality. The music is also cool. Love the place because it has a great selection of old and popular songs for actually everyone. At some point I understood that i can ask the DJ to play something and he was really kind to play what i’ve asked him.

My favourite pub so far in Barcelona. Totally unpretentious. Being able to relax and enjoy a simple drink to get your bearings back in this city is crucial. Live acoustic music every night?!.. yes please! All nationalities, groups, people on their own for a quick pint... all singing along! Shouting requests to the guy. Folk were loving it! And a giant disco ball!... Perfect! Update: after the live music ended at around 2300 it's just some dj playing pop songs off a USB. The place emptied soon. I didn't stay around to see how it ended. It was nice for a sweet moment.... its hard to find.
