UGARIT Plaça Joanic — Restaurant in Barcelona

Our group got several different plates from here, but I got my own order of chicken because I dislike the other meats. I really liked the xix tawuk, and everyone said that my order was the best thing anyone ordered, so I am going to take their word for it. I will say that the service was not ideal, though. I think the waiter was frustrated with us, as he didn't have the best "bedside manner," so to speak. Every time I tried to order a drink he got more and more frustrated, which I don't think that was fair because I tried to order a glass of wine or sangria from the menu only to be told that those were only sold by the bottle. Sorry, but don't have something on the menu if it isn't available, and especially don't give an attitude because I tried to order something from the menu. When my SIL tried to order something, he put his hand up in her face, which is one of the most rude ways to ask someone to give you a second, IMO. Idk if I would eat there again, although I would definitely want to order the food to go because the xix tawuk...

Gràcia is full of fantastic Syrian restaurants, and this is no exception. A cosy venue with plenty of seating, friendly staff, and some great food!

Prices are in the typical ranges you expect, with items like bocadillos around the 4€ point, and combo plates and other dishes starting in the 8-13€ area. Drinks are also what you’d want with beers and wines, domestic and some imports, being available.

They’re able to cater for small groups without reservations although it does get busy in the usual times; the restaurant is popular with locals and those wandering...

4 of us went on a Wednesday night, we were all in the mood for some Syrian cuisine, so I recommended Ugarit. No other Syrian restaurant in Barcelona comes to mind while thinking about Syria and authentic food. It was a bit difficult to find, as the location on google hasn't been updated, we were about to change our plans but then we found it. Amrit, on Carrer Verdi. The food was delicious and we were invited to a mint tea at the end! That was a really pleasant surprise and a fantastic end to our meal....
