Summary: Great service at the reception. The style of the hotel is really nice and its location is strategic. However, many small and some great pain points need to be addressed that together resulted into a major annoyance for me personally. Being, predominantly, housekeeping walking into your room when it's locked, a dirty toilet seat, interior location of the room and the overall quality of the bathroom. All in all, a slightly unpleasant experience although the hotel has potential.
Detailed version Service: Service at the desk was great. There are no "do not disturb" signs in this hotel, but you can lock the door instead. This results in the cleaning crew not being able to tell whether you don't want to be disturbed and hence we had several knocks on the door each morning which was very frustrating. Somehow after locking the door, housekeeping came in anyway when we were still in. This I found unacceptable and a fix is needed because it made us feel uncomfortable to be in the room. I ordered a "welcome package" which wasn't there upon arrival. This was promptly recognized by the reception, however, but took a while to correct. The welcome package was amazing though, and I totally recommend it. The first evening/night WiFi wasn't working, but the next morning it did and it kept working for the remainder of our stay. The free Gaudi tour was short but educative and entertaining. The free wine and cheese tasting was more of a simple buffet but a nice extra feature regardless.
The room: The style of the room is great, no doubt. There's a smart TV that allows screen mirroring with your device which is neat. Bed is comfy. Our room was located on the interior, which I do not recommend (no sunlight or fresh air). According to the website, there was supposed to be an iron in the room but it wasn't there which was a bit of a hassle.
Bathroom: There were some stains on the toilet seat, which I find a critical error for a hotel of this kind. There's nowhere to hang your towel near the sink, nor a tray for the hand soap. These are small grievances but annoying still. Shower was clean and spacious, but water pressure was low. The shoe shining kit was a cool addition. The sliding glass doors were a bit of a too nonexistent barrier, so make sure you're very comfortable with the person you're sharing...
Read moreIf I could give this a negative 5 stars, I would. Where to begin? Lets start with the first day. No wifi was available for opening day. Mind you when we booked this in June, opening day was the 4th. Then the website said the 12th and when we got here on the 14th, we were told it opened that day. Not a good start. So we get told right away that there is no wifi, no internet cafe. Fun. We get told that the pool is closed and there is no roof access/bar. Fine. The front desk has been very helpful. Now the room: We just a standard king size bed. It's very hard. Im having trouble sleeping because I feel like I'm sleeping on the floor. No extra blankets in room. Good luck calling the front desk. There is nothing on or around the phone that tells you to how to reach front desk. I actually had to walk down to the front desk to ask for a towel. Food... Apparently there is room service? I wouldn't know as again, i have no idea how to call them and there is no menu in the room. Now the bathroom. If you're a man and or like watery conditioner, then the soap is for you. It smells like a man's deodorant. If you like hot showers, learn to like the cold. Because the best you will get is luke warm and shivering. There is no door to the bathroom. The shower and the toilet each have a sliding glass door. Good luck turning on the shower without getting blasted with ice cold water. Unless you have stretchy arms, you have to enter the shower in order to turn it on. Long hair? Hate how you always clog the drain? Me too. So the shower drains into the tiniest hole under your feet. If that hole gets clogged, water backs up into the back of the shower. Now there is no lip on the floor, so if the water backs up, it will get all over the bathroom floor, which it did. Now the toilet: Tonight i closed the sliding door and it hit the wall when it closed, sending shards of glass everywhere. I had to walk downstairs to tell the front desk. Forget doing #2 in that thing. There is no door for the bathroom. Just the see through sliding glass door. No fan. Nothing. If you really want some privacy in the bathroom, go down the restaurant bano and hold your breath because every other woman had the same idea already. So overall, ...
Read moreextremely modern rooms and hotel the smell of the hotel is just amazing, soon as you walk in the scent hits you! AMAZING location, great views of the Sagrada. If you’re looking for retail shopping, and tourist type restaurants then it might not be the best location, although we found that there are many decent restaurants within a 2-10 min walk. For our price point it was relatively affordable, especially considering the view, the rooftop pool and the sun lounges. we paid extra for breakfast, which offered a pretty decent variety of food, with an egg station for omelettes. the hotel appears to have been recently refurbished, so everything is pretty new. we’d stay here again.
Lack of attention to detail by housekeeping, we had to ask for the body wash and hand wash to be refilled as these were empty on arrival. They also failed to replenish the tea/coffee/milk products on every single clean. It feels like they are rushing and missing these little things. Also, on two occasions housekeepers removed our spare room key from the electric socket so we came back to relatively warm rooms since this switched off the air-conditioner. They only provided one bottle of water and this was never replenished. I’m somewhat okay with this as there is a water cooler in the gym. I tried drinking the tap water but it has a horrible chlorine taste to it. I’m a little concerned about the pool area, the decking needs some maintenance in sections, and I’m not sure the pool is properly maintained/filtered. On our third day using the pool, the water was cloudy and there were floating bits of god knows what in the pool. It’s quite small, and it’s heavily used during these hot days, so I’m not sure just putting in some chlorine is doing the job. Cloudy water usually means that there is not enough chlorine and that there is a risk of pathogenic bacteria etc. so hopefully they have a professional...
