I recently dined at Velissima, recommended to us by the W Barcelona hotel. Unfortunately, despite high expectations and a promising start, my overall experience was marred by terrible service and some disappointing aspects. While there were a few highlights, the shortcomings overshadowed the positive elements.
To begin on a positive note, I must acknowledge our initial waiter, Alex, who escorted us to our table and provided an excellent explanation of the menu. His attentiveness and knowledge were commendable, and we were grateful for his assistance.
However, once we placed our order, the service began to unravel. Our assigned waiter proved to be inattentive and lacking the level of service one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. For instance, I had to request my drink three times before it was finally brought to the table. Additionally, a bottle of rosé was left untouched in an ice bucket behind us, requiring us to request its service as well.
Moving on to the appetizers, I must admit that the salad, tuna Tartare, and margherita pizza were truly excellent. Each dish showcased the authentic flavors and quality ingredients one would hope for in an Italian restaurant.
However, the decline in quality became evident when our main courses arrived. The lobster pasta, although flavorful, was disappointingly comprised of only half a small lobster. Moreover, the absence of any provision for cleaning our fingers, such as a finger bowl or wipes, was an oversight.
The biggest letdown was the fillet steak, which we ordered cooked medium to well. Upon arrival, it was almost raw and cold, requiring us to send it back to the kitchen. When it was eventually returned to the table, it came without any cutlery, necessitating another wait. Regrettably, the other two steaks we ordered also arrived lukewarm, suggesting a lack of attention from our waiter. While I understand that steak needs time to rest, it was evident that these had been left for far too long.
It's truly unfortunate that the restaurant failed to deliver on its potential. The combination of subpar service and inconsistent execution of dishes tarnished what could have been a delightful dining experience. Despite the promising appetizers, the disappointing main courses and lackluster service left much to be desired.
I sincerely hope that the restaurant takes these criticisms constructively and strives to improve in the future. With better attention to detail and more consistent service, there's no doubt that this establishment could regain its reputation and offer truly enjoyable...

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Velissima in Barcelona with my family, including my one-year-old niece, and I can genuinely say it was one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had.
As a Turk living in Germany, I am always amazed when I visit Mediterranean countries like Spain, Italy, Turkey, or Greece—the warmth, kindness, and hospitality of the people are on a completely different level compared to Germany. Here in Spain, people are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and especially attentive to children. At Velissima, the staff went out of their way to make sure our little one was comfortable and happy. They were beyond accommodating, incredibly polite, and truly made us feel like we were part of the family.
The service is absolutely first-class (1A)—efficient, professional, yet warm and personal. The ambiance of the restaurant is simply magical. From the moment you step in, you forget any stress or bad mood you might have had before. The positive energy, the beautiful decor, and the welcoming atmosphere immediately lift your spirits.
I have been to many fine dining and Michelin-starred restaurants, but even though Velissima is not officially a starred restaurant, it has become one of my absolute favorite restaurants—if not my number one favorite. The combination of amazing service, incredible atmosphere, and warm hospitality makes it truly special.
If you are in Barcelona, do yourself a favor and visit Velissima. It’s more than just a meal—it’s an experience that stays with you. I will...

Setting is nice, posh around the harbour with a nice view on million euros boat, you have a fancy decor and nice views.
Thats about it.
Expensive prices, fake annoying chef that comes and greet you with a 1m long pepper mill, annoying music level, caricatural guitarist walking around making it impossible to have a conversation, it feels more like a circus than a restaurant that charges you 100e for a meal.
Let's get to the food. Overpriced and useless, unless you go for a 50e plate and a 20e ball of cheese you'll have to go to taco bell after.
I had the pasta with 3 ingredients, one was missing, food was warm. My pasta was served out of a 40cm wide carved out cheese, great show but I was hungry man, 5min of serving to get 2 spoonful for 24e, amazing.
For an "italian" place, learn the difference between al dente and uncooked.
I almost choked on the amount of powder on the tiramissu, i felt like i was doing the cinamon challenge but i had to pay for it. The tiramissu was ten times worst than the one you get in the supermarket for 1e.
At least they carefully pick mildly attractive staff and fancy presentation to distract you from the low quality food, poor service and more than ridiculous price.
Any other place in barcelona will be better for food, if you want to show off your latest dior shoes and LV handbag and take instagram pictures then that's your spot.
