FIRE — Restaurant in Barcelona

My husband and I spent a week in Barcelona and this was by far the worst tasting food we had. Which was super disappointing because we were looking forward to our reservation and everything we've tried in the city so far had been superb. We started with a few cocktails which were ok. Ordered burrata for appetizer, it was underwhelming and the sauce that came with the burrata did not compliment the dish. We also ordered the ribeye steak to share. We were excited because they actually come out and show you the cuts of meat and the portion looked great. Once the steak came to our table, it was just awful! Not flavorful, it was dry, and chewy!! (ordered medium) I actually had to spit out a few pieces because I could not chew some parts of the meat. What made this even more frustrating was the "steak knife" given to us were like butter knives. The waitress was even nice enough to get us new ones but those also could not cut through the steak without serious elbow grease. Considering this was a W hotel, of course the ambiance and facility were amazing. They even had a live DJ in the restaurant which was nice. But if wanting to experience good food or even ok food in Barcelona, do not waste your time here. For the price point FIRE is charging .. you can enjoy SO many other tasty places to eat...

One star only because you have to leave a rating; otherwise, I would’ve left zero. I recently dined at Fire and similar to other reviews, the experience was underwhelming. My initial thoughts were because my party was African American, as we noticed our waiter seemed more attentive to other guests. While the host was nice, as well as the bartenders at the bar (exceptional, if we were to visit again, it would only be the bar), the waitresses was rude and inattentive. Our portions were large so we didn’t finish and asked for it to go. Upon time to leave, we asked where our leftovers were to which the waitress used profanity when she realized she forgot to bag it. Our food was trashed, and after “consulting” with the manager, she wasn’t apologetic, did not try to rectify the situation, gave us an attitude and took $3 (water charge) off a $100 tab and 2 drink tickets like she did us a favor. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. After ordering drinks, it took 20 minutes for a Pepsi to come out and I had to remind them twice. The waiter seemed upset with us and not sure why, but when I said thank you to him bringing the Pepsi he kind of just mumbled. Which is also insane because the restaurant was basically empty.

Then, it took over an hour for our Ribeye to come after ordering. We ordered medium rare, but the steak was unevenly cooked and very rare in some parts. This had to be one of the worst tasting ribeyes I’ve ever had, which is absurd for $120 steak.

We really wanted dessert but decided the wait wouldn’t be worth it.

Overall, terrible service, terrible food, terrible presentation, overpriced. If all you care about is a good view, I would still recommend Noxe or any of the beachfront...
