Port Vell — Attraction in Barcelona

Barcelona and also the environment of Port Vell is beautiful but a marina is judged on its services and how friendly its staff is. In this case, if you are not a super yacht of 100ft plus, I recommend Real Club Nautico where the staff IS helpful. At Marina Port Vell, we were not given a price until assigned a space (Eur 75 for 40ft by the way). We wee told they had a berth when we tried to reserve 2h earlier but they were actually full and the “berth” was a spot against a high concrete wall. And finally....we were told to wait 5-10 minutes for diesel but in the end had to wait nearly 90 minutes!!

As a result we are super happy to spend our days in Barcelona in Real Club Nautico with great WiFi, we are next to Club Del Mar (not noisy), have 24h access with great security and are close to the Rambla de Mar bridge which leads straight to the main street and restaurants. Una reliquia en medio de la Barcelona del diseño, un remanso de paz en la Barcino más turística de la historia (ha sido escogida la 5a ciudad más codiciada por los turistas de tripadvisor en 2013). Puedes ver llegar a los pescadores por la tarde, despues de llevar faenando desde primera hora de la mañana y contemplar anonadado como descargan el pescado igual que en cualquier otro pueblecito pesquero del Mediterráneo, eso sí, con el Maremàgnum, el Aquàrium y todos esos mazacotes de hormigón como telón de fondo. Lo recomiendo para darse un paseo al atardecer y desconectar del mundanal ruido, mientras el aroma de las redes de pesca golpea...
