Smash Angus Burger at Somos Carne – Cancelada

I recently had the pleasure of trying the Smash Angus Burger at Somos Carne in Cancelada, and it completely exceeded my expectations.

From the very first bite, the quality of the Angus beef stood out — juicy, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully seared with that irresistible smash-style crust. The combination of melted cheddar, crisp pickles, and just the right touch of onion made for a rich and balanced flavor profile. All of it was held together by a soft yet sturdy toasted brioche bun that never overwhelmed the main event.

As a slow eater, I tend to savor each bite — but this time, Christina, with her warm and lively energy, playfully encouraged me to eat faster, as if she were my own mother. It made the experience even more fun and memorable. Thank you, Christina!

What truly elevated the meal was enjoying it with a couple of glasses of their crisp white house wine, along with the Argentinian Etchart Privado, made from the Torrontés grape. Its floral and citrusy notes paired wonderfully with the savory burger, adding a refreshing and elegant touch to the meal.

The ambiance at Somos Carne is welcoming and relaxed, yet clearly focused on quality. I’m definitely going to try the other products on their menu — if this burger is any indication, there’s a lot more goodness to discover.

What a great restaurant! My husband and I had dinner there a few days ago, at the new location after they moved from Benahavis. Great 1kilo steak, cooked to perfection, accompanied by spectacular Argentinian Malbec wine was a perfect ending to our day. Christina, the hostess, is so fun to be around and talk to. Chef Dionissia is amazing at what she does. Her empanada recipe is heirloom and is the best in the world!! You all are greatly missed...

Hands down the best steak we’ve had in a long time, perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. The burger was just as impressive: juicy, well-seasoned, and clearly made with quality ingredients.
