Bar Plaza Espana — Restaurant in Benalmádena

Bad experience with a rude waiter! Woman on her own walks into the bar terrace, order a glass of sangria at 4 pm, in half empty cafe. Checked with the waiter that can pay by a card, had no cash… waiting and waiting … seeing everyone else get served … After half hour of waiting - had to walk to the bar and ask -? “is there a problem with my drink, to see the waiter avoiding an eye contact and someone asking “what do you want?” I have never felt such a rude attitude ! Never left a bad review in my life - but feel that was totally out of order. If “no cash “ was an issue - I would understand it and walk away, but not an ignorance treatment! I was looking for a dinner for 5 later and that was lost...

Had tapas and a couple of drinks, all very nice, but after I paid by card and left, a waiter followed us up the street and said my payment didn't go through. I apologised and went back with him to the bar. I payed cash and left. When I got back to the hotel my banking app showed that the payment had gone through, so I'd payed twice. I made the mistake of not taking my receipts so didn't attempt to try and get my money back. Just be aware, that's all.

Update... Thank you for your quick reply, obviously this was an honest error and i appreciate your response. Thank you for the offer to reimburse me, but there is no need for this as it's passed now....

Good tapas, the chicken wings and Spanish omelet are generous. Service is slow due popularity, but the staff works hard. The issue is the clientele. This place is noisy, packed full of the usual Brits, with hair unwashed, bad dental work, no idea what cutlery is for, puffy, over-weight, dressed in polyester knock-off imitation designer branded cloths and fading monochrome tattoos. Yes, once again surrounded by loud, hard drinking bunch that blow through multiple 1/2 ltr beers and bottles of wine, numbing their sunburns and counting the days until their "vacy" ends and they return on Ryanair.
