Dublin Bar & Pub — Restaurant in Benalmádena

I recently decided to give Dublin Bae & Co in Benalmádena a chance for a business meal based on its impressive Google rating of 4.8 stars. The location seemed perfect, offering a relaxed atmosphere ideal for a business discussion without the formality of a high-end restaurant, and the promise of good food to help seal the deal. Unfortunately, my experience was quite the opposite.

Situated by the promenade overlooking the beach, Dublin Bae & Co initially appeared promising. However, the charm ended there. The place is essentially a pub on the beach, lacking any distinctive character. Despite the beachside location, it offers none of the expected ambiance, and the prices are comparable to those in a major city, which is quite surprising given the overall experience.

The portions were another disappointment. A pizza, large enough for two, and a burger resembling a towering stack of meat made the meal challenging to manage. The burger, in particular, was a disaster. Priced on the higher end, it arrived raw inside, which was not only unappetizing but also extremely embarrassing during a business meal.

To make matters worse, the service was subpar. When the waitress collected our plates, she didn’t bother to ask if everything was alright, despite the burger being visibly untouched and broken apart, revealing the raw meat. This lack of concern for customer satisfaction was glaring.

The food itself was greasy and tasteless, making the entire dining experience uninviting. Even if the food were offered at €1, I would still hesitate to recommend this place. Where to start. Place looks great so we were eager to try it. Main waiter was all smiles and very professional while walking around but seen him smile while getting angry with a girl who was putting dishes on a table near by. When taking our order my 13yo plain eater asked could she just get a cheeseburger. He did this look into the middle distance and paused for a few seconds and then pointed to the menu asking ‘which one’. There is no plain cheeseburger on the menu and he knew that too so came across as very condescending. He then said we have a burger in the kids menu but only chicken burger. So clearly making her a cheeseburger was too much and she ordered the nuggets from the kids menu. These were in a pat with Lidl. My wife really likes sprouts and they were on a dish that she didn’t fancy so she ordered pork secret but asked could she get sone sprouts because they had them on another dish. He rolled his eyes again with a forced smile and paused the said I don’t know I will ask. Her dish arrived and no sprouts but no acknowledgment from waiter. We really did feel like a thorn in his side. Other service people were great but they all seemed to be wary of him. Food was very tasty but our pork secret was a very small serving so left feeling hungry. Other peoples alternative dishes looked fine portion wise. One more thing which seemed bad practice while clearing a table after guests left they picked up remaining cutlery and put it back in the grey plastic thing where they keep the clean cutlery which was a little unsettling. I was on a guided trip in Spain with my friends. It was the last day of our trip and we’ve got one and half an hour of free time. We wanted to eat something before going to the airport so we decided to go to a restaurant. We got time at the marine and we didn’t really had patience to do a research so we were just looking at the places from the outside. We lost our hope as it was the last place left to check but it turned out that this restaurant has a perfect menu, so we decided to stay. As far as we stepped in, we got greeted by the amazing waiters, the atmosphere was unbeatable!! From the start, we already knew we won’t leave disappointed. I’ve got the seafood pasta and alcohol-free mojito and the waiting time really shocked us. We feared that we would run out of time, but in reality our order came after maximum 15 minutes! My dish was such a masterpiece, I can’t even describe it. I tasted my friend’s food too and it also was super delicious. The people working here were the best too. They were constantly joking and they looked like they enjoy their job a lot. As we were paying for the food, we also got free lollipops as a free gift. It was truly so cute. The staff noticed that we were polish and said ‘do widzenia’ to us which means goodbye in polish. Overall the food is amazingly delicious, the waitresses are very kind and the vibes are so nice.
