Went there twice in one week. The tapas was lovely (and the reason we returned) but the service left a lot to be desired. On our first visit we were told not to order too much, which I realise was an attempt to be helpful but it came across as patronising, ruining the whole dinner.
On our second visit we felt very rushed despite the restaurant being very quiet, which made us feel not welcomed. We would have stayed longer and bought more drinks to enjoy at the seafront location, but feeling that we were in the way made us decide to leave and just sit by the beach instead.
We had to ask for our free beer (if you bought three tapas) both nights, which is a minor annoyance but it was advertised so we felt a little conned when we realised it wasn't going to arrive unless we mentioned it.
It's a shame as it's a great location and the food was delicious, but I wouldn't recommend it unless other tapas bars are...
Read moreSurprised this has such high ratings. It wasn't terrible but it was worse than average IMO, hence 2/5 score.
The alioli was especially disappointing, I am certain they used mayonnaise or actually just use some pre-made alioli out of a carton. The alioli sauce didn't look or taste homemade, and it was poured all over the potatoes so I couldn't avoid it (potatoes were also small chunks, bigger would be better). Restaurants should never be using sauces straight from a carton, otherwise there is no point.
The prices are also a little too expensive for the portions you get. 8 euros for 5 small prawns in a tapas is overpriced, that meal was also too oily.
These are 2 classic problems that restaurants shouldn't do, don't have food swimming in oil and don't use ready-made, processed food.
The staff were fine, although the kitchen also got an order...
Read moreWe've been here several times since last year because it was worth it. Unfortunately it seems that the owner, I believe a Dutch lady, thought that increasing the prices AND reducing the portions is a good idea, and even the quality of the food has gone down. We had our usual, patatas bravas, which were spicy but only few potatos; croquettes and fried Camembert, which was ok; and gambas al pilpil. Those gambas not only were tiny, the oil was tasteless and there were a total of 5 tiny prawns, as shown in the picture, costing 8,- Euro! A stunning 1,60 Euro per gamba! A portion of 200g of deep frozen gambas, probably 50 of them, of that size cost about 6 Euros in the shops. When I asked the owner about it she only said that everything has got more expensive now.... I'm afraid we can not recommend this...
