“If You Don’t Like It, Leave”. How Staff Respond to a Fair Complaint
The day of 23.07.25 I went here for a birthday dinner with my family. I had been there 2 days earlier in the bar upstairs and the service and drinks were really good, so I was expecting something similar in the restaurant. When we went we got received nice by the reception and shown to our table. By the time the food was starting to arrive we didn’t see any waiters anymore. They started getting rude and showing a hostile attitude towards us and also the neighbour table. The entrecôte and the bernaise sauce was really nothing to be happy about. Watered out sauce and cold meat. We tried to get a waiters attention for 20 MINUTES and when we finally got some the drink runner told us to talk to theire colleague (maybe you should tell your colleague?) You could tell that nobody wanted to take our table because the staff was lacking professionalism. We were not there to argue but I seemed as the staff were there to argue. When we finally got a waiter over he had no interest in listening to what we wanted to order or the complain about the food. This same waiter ( bald Argentinian guy) was the second floor manager. He told us that he himself and the GENERAL MANAGER had tried the sauce and that it was nothing wrong with it. He started raising his voice towards us and talking in a way as if we were children. Saying that this the way they serve and if we didn’t like it we should leave. He also told us that if we didn’t like the food, why didn’t we complain? BECAUSE THERE WERE NO ONE TO TALK TO. When we tried to talk to him we got asked in a condescending way ‘what do you want? “ then rolled his eyes in a not so discreet way. This man is a disgrace to the hospitality line of work. He got rude towards me and my family. We asked for a manager and there were NONE during dinner time. He ended up sending the receptionist who managed to lift the mood on this night of fiasco. You could tell by own experience in this line of work and management that the waiters and staff was having a bad day. But they should at least have some staff that knows how to smile like the receptionist and the manager of the bar that is called Antonio. So thanks to Antonio and the receptionist they managed to lift the mood a bit, but the night was ruined by the other incompetent staff members. I got asked for my phone number because the general manager was supposed to call me (never happened), on my way out after the second floor manager was pointing at me and my family in a mocking way. I’m not gonna lie, this place is beautiful but THE STAFF IS ROTTEN. Sad to see a few staff members get ruined because of the rudeness, mockingness and incompetence of the other staff members. Would not recommend at all use your money...

Perhaps one of the things are better than normal or exceptional which will push the experience to perfection and by that reign full points in total. In this case there where no question about it because everything was great. This restaurant had an impressive ambiance and service already when we arrived. We booked a table just the day before and it was located next to the outside porch directly under the roof with an exceptional view of Benalmádena beach. I feel that I have to talk a bit about the restaurant first. When we got our table I had to have a walk around the restaurant which is really big and made entirely out of dark wood. It has at least three big bars and a couple of smaller ones as well as seating both inside and outside. There are several floors and all tables are in a weird way incapsulated in the total ambience of the restaurant. The furniture and design is very very nice and everything looks like it was staged for a travel video. Very impressive I must say. The staff was very attentive and the sommelier helped us out with the local wines even though we had our own sommelier with us. We decided on some sushi, with their Trocadero touch, for everyone as a starter and they where great. We actually discussed if we should take one more serving, but decided to wait for the mains. For main course two of us had the "Catch of the day" which was Red Snapper. I had Sirloin and one of us had the Sole. Kids had homemade burger and homemade chicken nuggets. All of the food was great as well as the service. To drink with this we had Sangria, a Temranillo from Ribera de Duero which they had on glass, a sweet local Moscatel and beer. All of it was of course great as well. I will as usual include the reciept and photos of the menu so you can check the prices. All in all a great restaurant and a place i recommend everyone in the area to try. It must be one of the best restaurants around here. I don't know how to top this when you add the ambience and location to the equation. A must visit for everyone at...
Read moreNew restaurant in Benalmadena has very nice interior! There is big terrace area and inside has bar and restaurant area. There is also parking area that was not available at the moment, but they said it should be open next week.
Restaurant has been open for 3 days so we expected some minor glitches and there were some on the service side. Certainly this is a thing that needs fixing for this price level. Staff was very friendly but they were bit lost, we had maybe 5-6 different people doing service. One of them asked us if we have not received portions yet when clearly it was obvious that table was empty. Well maybe this was just politeness. They need bit organizing and guidance so that everything will be perfect. 5 starts for attitude, bit less for being bit lost. Btw we had to check the bill after all confusion and it wasn't correct. But I'm pretty sure all this will be fixed in near future.
Food was pretty good. We did not order any main courses, so for steak, paella and fish I can't say anything. We ordered tapas style dishes to share. Absolutely great dish was fried pulpo with kimchi sauce. Ceviche and seaweed salad were ok. As for Tuna tataki I think the tuna taste was killed with too much chilli and other ingredients. It wasn't bad, just as tuna lovers it wasn't for us. Place has pretty nice selection of wines. All ingredients seemed to be fresh and high quality. Oven made cheesecake is great for authentic cheesecake lovers. Much better than one made of cream cheese and not baked.
Place is not cheap, all portions are from 20-30€ per portion or pax. But of course you pay for the atmosphere, views and service. There is plenty of staff here to take care of you.
Overall it's nice addition to area and will be a very popular place after some fine tuning. I will surely return here to try the main courses. Also the bar area is stunning. Have to try how they make drinks....
People should check this place out, overall it's classy...
