GURKHA KITCHEN — Restaurant in Benidorm

If I could give this place 6 stars I would ✨️

Where to start? The atmosphere upon entry, felt so authentic and the staff were amazing and were so genuine too, most staff in benidorm restaurants look like they hate their jobs and would rather be elsewhere! But here it felt so welcoming...

The food: The starters we had were the onion bhaji and garlic paneer, the bahjis were crispy and golden and the best bhaji you will ever taste in the whole of Benidorm, possibly even Spain! One of the waiters came round and asked if we'd like the paneer cooking in some sort of chilli 🌶 😋 Yes was definitely the best answer as I've never tasted anything like this and I LOVE genuine Indian/Bengali food like the dry spice stuff but this chilli the paneer was cooked in was something else!! The raita was a perfect addition to the starters too, tastes just like back home.

The mains we had were mainly of Nepal origin and we got the chicken Kathmandu and everest chicken... These two curries were legit the best curries we have ever tasted, and we have tasted a lot of curries from various areas and countries. So creamy and spicy and full of flavour in every bite, this also complemented the garlic and onion rice which I must say 1 portion will do 2 people as they come in a large traditional Kanjikalam and the chilli naan we ordered was more than enough for 2 people.

Drinks: wines and beers weren't that expensive but we're good quality local beers and the wine was as expected with reflection of the price. I also tried the mango lassii and was so thick, creamy and fruity! Way better than back home!

Now the big main point of the eventing for us THE PRICE: With the quality of service and the quality of food, drinks and presentation I would say this is the best Asian cuisine you will find in Benidorm at this price range... we expected around €70-€80 after what we ordered and our bill was €52! This meal and service would have well been worth the price and we only felt right giving what we thought was an acceptable tip for the enjoyment of our evening and the best food we have had all holiday! (€13 tip) And I hope you guys enjoyed the tip as you all deserved every € for the service you gave us. To reiterate for a TLDR, if you love indian/Asian infusion food, this is the only place in Benidorm I would safely eat this type of food, just a shame we leave tomorrow as I would happily have eaten...

That's all I have to say is what an amazing restaurant.

We were taken here back in August by friends and the food was like no other type of Indian type of cuisine that I have ever tasted.

I know it's a Ghurka restaurant but it's basically mostly the same as an Indian restaurant back home but so much better.

If you are reading this, I come to Benidorm from Cardiff with my Mrs for a few days about four or five times a year and have now made this on my list of things to must do while staying in Benidorm.

From the moment that you walk through the doors you are made to feel very welcome and the lady that works front of house is so warm and welcoming.

They do a special menu that costs 16.95 euros each and you can choose a starter, a main dish, and either a rice dish or a nan bread.

This is then followed by a desert included in the price which we had mango ice cream.

This was my second visit in the last two days, even though we have half board in our hotel.

We came here yesterday and enjoyed it so much we decided to come here again tonight.

If your wondering if it's worth coming here then trust me, do try it as you won't be disappointed I promise you.

We came as a group on holiday. We were accommodated instantly by the host! We were led to our seats and offered drinks.

The wait for our order did not feel long at all and it was amazing food overall! I got the chicken madras with rice and chips. I asked for medium as I wasn’t sure(I love my spicy food) and I would have put it as a mild madras. It was incredibly tasty and it wasn’t too heavy on the tomato flavour either which was enjoyable as sometimes it can be a bit too acidic.

The starters are also worth having as they have sweet chilli chicken. The little drawn designs on the plate are a nice added touch also.
