I've been here before a couple of times over the years so I knew what to expect on my recent visit to Benidorm. Me the wife and another couple went for Breakfast. Place was packed, good sign, we went inside and were seated and no surprise told about a 20 minute wait. The staff member, greyish short haired woman was flat out. I remember her from a previous few years ago, same attitude, as if you were doing her a favour by choosing to eat there. Abrupt, sighed when we asked for another tea when breakfast served and when asked about sweetner for tea as my mate is diabetic, she abruptly snared coming with her hand out like a general. I bit my tongue as did my company.ok she was very busy but I recognised the attitude before. We ordered 3 Large Fry's and one soup with crusty bread. The fry was the worst I've experienced. Over done egg, tinned mushrooms, watery tinned tomatoes, standard sausage and the bacon, it had the black but if the hotplate or pan stuck to it, rotten. The place is full of still half drunk or badly hungover revellers. They must all be from Yorkshire or there abouts as the reviews I read are biased because it overplays the Yorkshire Pub theme 'YawwwwkkSheuuurr' lol the Tea was the highlight of the breakfast. The food on previous years with fellas was cheap and cheerful. €3.50 for a fry so no complaints. This occasion it was not as cheap and you can definitely get better in the locale cheaper or same price. Customer Service needs learnt by the staff member who served us and the food is not...
Read moreUpon ordering food I asked for less peas than shown in picture as I would not eat that many. Waitress response was 'it comes how it comes love'. I'm unsure whether that was meant to be banter or not. However if I ordered a burger without sauce and was told that 'it would come how it comes' I would have walked out. My sausage, mash and peas in Yorkshire pudding wasn't too bad however my partners kebab with chips was not very nice. The kebab lacked flavour and was very dry. Drinks were good as we just had cans of coca cola. We wasn't asked if we wanted a desert when plates were collected but the manager seemed friendly when I went to pay. There was a white looky looky man with a couple of suitcases in there at the time selling lacoste T shirts and Armani watches. He wasn't pushy like other looky looky men which was good and just offered people to take a look at his merchandise. He was selling Armani watches for €20 and lacoste T shirts for €10. There were no baby changing facilities. As being non smokers with a baby we sat at the back of the restaurant to avoid the smell of smoke coming through. This did not work as whilst eating all we could do was passive smoke from the people smoking outside under the canopy which was disgusting. It's unfortunate there was no ventilation system to keep the smoke outside. Not easy to manoeuvre a pram/wheelchair around the tables and...
Read moreVisited twice. Our Sunday beef roast on the 11th was hot, delicious and very filling. Though the bar had multiple telly's all playing football on high volume we were able to nab the corner table. Despite this the food has us looking forward to our next visit. How let down we were today, a mere 9 days later. We were one of only 5 tables occupied. The waitress was abrupt and unfriendly. I asked for extra spicy chicken and was told I'd have to pay for sauce? Cajun chicken was a tough slice barely dusted with spice, which had the distinct flavor of microwave defrosting and cooking. The chips were old small bits and barely warm, no where near freshly cooked. My husband has the kebab, which pictured in the menu had salad mixed with it and rolled into the pita bread. When it arrived the rubbery grey meat was in a dried out and rubbery half pita. There was no tomato or salad mixed with it. A small heap of basic mixed salad on the side with beetroot and carrot in it. His chips had come from the same neglected batch of small bits as mine did. When our plates were collected the waitress commented she couldn't believe we ate all the food???? We will not return to Yorkshire Pride Two stars as the food on first...
