My elderly Nan and Great Aunt went into this shop whilst they were on holiday in Benidorm looking for a battery pack. Whist there, the man serving explained that he works in Curry's in Birmingham (he couldn't give me an exact branch) for half of the year when Benidorm shuts down. The man then explained that he had the newest iPad that had 'wifi built in so can be used on the beach' (he means you can connect it to your personal hotspot, which can be done on literally ANY device that has Wifi) and would give them £300 each if they traded in their current iPads to put towards the new one. He also said that their iPads would 'expire' later on in the year. Now, my Nan doesn't do anything without consulting me first when it comes to electronics and I'm so glad she spoke to me first. I was skeptical so I asked to speak to the man over the phone to ask him a few questions, which he initially did, however after 5 minutes of speaking to him, he would no longer talk to me because I was "a know it all". Unfortunately whilst I was talking to my Nan, explaining I didn't think he was genuine

1. because he was getting so agitated with me on the phone and 2) there are lots of fakes out there that look exactly the same, he had already taken my Aunts iPad and moved everything over to the new iPad. He then said he would no longer sell an iPad to my Nan, until they got back to the hotel and showed me it was all fully working. I agreed, and to my horror, I knew straight away they had been scammed. He had swapped my aunts 2023 iPad with an 8th generation iPad (which came out around 2019 I believe). I knew as soon as she called because neither of their iPads have the round home button on the front anymore, and this one had it. I told her to go back and get her iPad back, because not only had she swapped her iPad, she had also given him a further £400, so essentially paid £700 for an iPad that is not even available to buy in the UK anymore. The cheapest available iPad on the apple website is £400. They went back and he told her he didn't have the iPad anymore as he had already sent it away in the 45 minutes they had been gone (which is obviously because he knew he had the better deal) and they were too afraid to stand their ground. He 'appeased' her by giving her an 'iWatch' (not even sure it is real as he had already lied so much) and she felt she had no choice but to accept. When I tried to confront him over the phone, he just kept talking over me asking what the newest iPad is and what GB does it have. I assumed if you work for Curry's 6 months of the year, and this is 'an official apple shop' (which it is not as you have samsung also written in big writing on the front of your shop) you would know the answer to that. My nan is very lucky to have grandchildren that are there to help her out with these things, because some elderly people don't have that option. None of the devices were in boxes, and it already seems to be playing up. It's also affecting her phone due to passwords being changed by the shop. Avoid...
