My favorite Pintxo(tapa) bar in my one week Basque region stay. We visited multiple times a day over a few days during the wild Grand Week celebration. The pintxos were all good and much better than most the other bars I tried. The bar was busy but not ever packed. The staff were very friendly! The gentleman in the photo served us numerous times and was super cool and friendly! We loved visiting here and hope to be back in a few years! The mushroom pintxo with a butter sauce on top was our favorite.

I wasn’t impressed by the selection of pintxos because I have just been at the Irrintzi next door that in my opinion has the best pintxos in town accordingly with my idea of cuisine and food. Said that prices are really competitive, the location is an institution and you can tell it is a locals favourite.

Steak tartar, tuna tartar, bacalao al pil pil, bacalao pil pil sobre setas a la plancha, tortilla de morcilla, tortilla de patatas.......imposible decidirse por uno, aqui si o si se debe probar todo, extrañaremos mucho este sitio cuando dejemos la ciudad. Atendido por sus dueños los cuales te hacen sentir como si fueses de la familia, muchas gracias Ion e hijo y todos sus empleados por lo que han hecho por nosotros, siempre que volvamos a Bilbao los visitaremos!
