The food was terrible. I was only able to eat the salad and it wasn't that great. I ordered entrecot and and it was rubbery as hell. I took one bite and didn't dare eat anymore. I didn't even ask to exchange it for something else because I didn't feel like dealing with the waiters any more and I didn't trust the cook. The service is about what you can usually expect from the Basque Country and my father is Basque. They usually are very curt and "too busy to be polite". The person I went with said hello to the waitress and the waitress didn't even respond. Etiquette is sadly disappearing all around world but when you are paying for something you expect basic courtesy and this place lacked even that. I didn't return the food to exchange it for something else because I hate doing that and because the service killed any desire to do that. I wouldn't recommend that restaurant to anyone. As you can see from the reviews it isn't held in high regard very often. Avoid this place...
Read moreBest restaurant in Bilbao! On holiday in Bilbao and was looking for pretty restaurants, but could not find any. Tripped over this one and it looked great from the outside with white table cloths and very delicatly set tables. We were nicely welcomed by a charming Young man. I ordered the beef tenderloin served on stone, with french fries. And it is the greatest beef I have ever tried. I am a picky eater and loved this. Great service and we were here three times in a three day holiday. Greatest Pick. We were recognised by the waiter the times we came back to the restaurant. We were here today at 28/07 and the waiter was the same as the other times and he had great service. Kind and welcoming. This place deserves even more customers and great reviews. The food and everything else was amazing. Chill place. Not expensive for what we get. Helene -...
Read moreLoved the menu del dia - great value for money, attentive waiters and really delicious food. I had aubergine stuffed with crab for starters, squid cooked in its own ink for main and chocolate tart for dessert. My partner had fish salad, veal steak and rice pudding. The price was €19 per person including half a bottle of wine each, bottled water and bread. People have commented on the portions being small, which I would agree to some extent but, considering it was 3 courses, it was the perfect amount for me.
Only negative is that the bathroom needs a bit of maintenance work done on it (e.g. Lock and toilet roll holder broken in women's toilet).
Would still recommend the place...
