HDH - IMPRESCINDIBLE RESERVAR — Restaurant in Bilbao

Today, I chose to have a burger for dinner in Bilbao. Based on Google reviews, I found a place with over 10K reviews and a 4.9 rating. I ordered the Umami burger and fries. First of all, the quality of the food was outstanding. The fries and the sauce were absolutely delicious.

As for the burger, I wish I had read on their website how they cook the patty, because it came almost raw — actually, completely raw. The cheese, onions, and other ingredients were fantastic, but since the burger patty is the heart of a burger and it was raw, unfortunately, I couldn’t eat it.

However, the staff were truly great. When they noticed I hadn’t eaten the burger, they kindly offered to cook it again, which I appreciated, but at that point it didn’t make much sense anymore. This situation partly happened because I didn’t check the details beforehand, and partly because the restaurant doesn’t seem to offer different doneness options for the meat.

Since the restaurant is very popular, it’s hard to find a table without a reservation. One small criticism — it’s a bit disappointing that such a popular burger place doesn’t have...

Umami! Truly Umami. The is easily in my top 3 burger joints. Reservation is an absolute must. They make burgers with utmost care and love. Great quality ingredients, simple classic assembly. It's the right size, not too messy, very juicy, heavenly perfect rare meat patty. I had the Umami and it was amazing. My partner had the Freak and it's too good for a pork burger. Both quite distinct in taste, the sauce does not (thankfully) overpower the meat. We also had the sweet potato fries, but quite disappointed with the Bombay curry sauce. I am from Bombay and we do not have anything like that. Never mind the sauce, the sweet potato fries were very good. Not overly sweetened by adding sugar. Beer goes well to down the burgers. Honestly, we expected much more considering the 4.9 rating and over 9000 reviews. The Bocatti di Cardinale was too soggy and little too greasy — the taste was okay, but the texture was poor. The Umami Burger was quite plain, tasting like raw meat without any real flavor, and the toppings inside the burger were barely noticeable. The Freak Burger was good, but nothing special. Also, when ordering a “Burger Menu,” we expected at least some kind of side dish to come with it.

Overall, it’s not worth the hype — instead of a rhapsody of flavors, we got just an average burger with soft meat. However, the staff were cheerful, friendly, and pleasant, and their organization and service were excellent, which left a positive impression in the end. All...
