La Cuina de Jardines — Restaurant in Bilbao

TL:DR - Decent place, nothing special.

The restaurant only serves the daily menu, for 16 EUR with 2 dishes, bread, dessert, water and wine. It is a good offering with a variety of dishes to choose from, so you can find something that will please you.

The good : the food is okay for the most part. The variety is good, and I like that they include the wine, water, bread and dessert in the whole thing. The restaurant looks good, the chairs are comfortable, it's a nice place, clean and well maintained.

The bad : the worst thing about the restaurant is imo the lack of consistency between the dishes served. Some of them are good like the fish, and some of them are not as good like the steak. On top of that the portions are a bit too small imo. Some of them are bigger (pork knuckle) , and some of them are smaller (the steak). If they served 30% more potatoes/vegetables, it would solve the issue. (I have seen 1 kg of potatoes/peppers go for less than 1 EUR in some places, it's not gonna break the bank.) In my opinion, it would better to offer less options (atm they offer 14 different dishes total, maybe cut it down to 10), but make sure that all the options are equal in quality and quantity. The restaurant only has 1 waiter, and it gets crowded around 14h-15h so it is obvious that she is overwhelmed/overworked. This has as an effect that the wait times for food/ordering are higher than normal, and the waiter can get a bit stressed which you can feel when she talks to you. I wouldn't say that she's rude, but clearly stressed and rushing. Imo, if they hired 1 additional person to wait the tables it would make...

My family and I are on a cruise. Bilbao is one of the port of call. Place is beautiful and after walking around and shopping natually we all became hungry. Some of them wanted to eat paella. We asked around and was told Bilbao doesn't really specialize on paella just this place so, we ended up here. The hostess did not seem friendly, she looked mostly aggravated. From the beginning. I ignored it and tried to make the best of times with my family. I advised the hostess that although we were 13 we will need separate checks . She said ok, and it will be worked out at the end. Well, when the end came we proceeded to tell her how the bill should be split. She became enraged. She said she didn't know how to split the bill. She went to the back and began cursing us out to the chef. After she cursed us out she came back to us with a smile ( VERY VERY WEIRD) We will never return here primarily because how we were treated and also, food wasn't great at all as they are very very cheap with...

NO ENTREIS Y MENOS SI VAIS CON NIÑOS. Si hay muchas malas opiniones por algo será, el local lo tiene vacío, mientras que los del resto de la calle están llenos. La señora que lo atiende es una mal educada y mentirosa que en primer lugar te dice que medio menú 6,5€ incluye bebida, un plato y postre y luego a la hora de pedir el postre no lo incluye (le pregunte insistentemente que llevaba y el precio para luego no tener sorpresas desagradables) la niña tiene 3 años y no es capaz de comerse un menú, además había picoteado (fruta) antes de sentarnos. También íbamos con un bebé de seis meses que solo toma pecho. Raciones muy muy escasas, en el plato de pasta venían 5 raviolis, repito 5, los conté. VERGONZOSO, al preguntarla si ella comía con eso dice que si. Los raviolis estaban secos, de llevar tiempo cocinados. El pequeño “entrecot” sabía a vaca vieja, acompañada con 7 patatas fritas congeladas y un pimiento rojo de bote. El bonito, tres trocitos con tomate de bote y 3 patatas. Los postres industriales, el tiramisu postre de mi mujer llegó con un pelo, al reclamarlo dice que a saber la procedencia de ese pelo, como cuestionando que no lo hubiéramos puesto nosotros, llevo una bolsa en llena de pelos y los voy colocando donde me viene en gana 😂😂😂. Sin duda el pelo estaba por debajo de la crema. Ni el cocinero lleva guantes, ni ropa de cocina,ni gorro, adivina adivinanza. Que mínimo que una disculpa, encima nos acusa, como si fuera una niña pequeña. No hay señalización de evacuación en caso de incendios y tampoco extintores (según ella yo no los vi, los tendrá bajo llave en un mueble) Pusimos una reclamación y espero que cierre pronto, no se debe engañar a la gente y por 14€ hay que poner algo más de comida.
