On our last day in Bilbao, we decided to go for a restaurant meal as we had already visited one of the busy casual bars the night before. This restaurant has good reviews thars not always any form of guarantee of quality though but we had visited it in the morning and liked the look of it. The menu like most was relatively small but there was something to please everyone. I have come to the conclusion that they prefer to offer a small menu but focus on creating great dishes, so quality over quantity. Our meal was exceptional we all ordered individually but decided to share our meals so we could enjoy all the flavours. We were served by charming Monica who turned out to be the granddaughter of the founder of the restaurant. She proudly gave us a postcard with the photo of her grandad and staff when he started the business. You have to give it to this nation they have a passion and dedication for the hospitality industry. In Spain it is not a cinderella industry but a profession and in some cases like this a life's dedication. If you want to sample some of Bilbaos best food put it top of your list. The cost was also very reasonable considering the quality and creativity of the dishes. We finished of with cheesecake and although the restaurants name is the same as its more famous namesake cheesecake bar in San Sebastian there is no connection. Having tried both I would say that they are as good as each other. However this restaurant was a better experience to enjoy your meal at a table instead of standing in the street in San Sebastian.

Came here as recommended by someone (cannot remember who lol). It was super duper crowded but we managed to get a table for two. Really chill vibes, I would say it feels like a typical Spanish cafe bar but in actuality, it had a very different feel — something I only experienced in Basque county, I guess. I loved it. We ordered bacalau, pork (or beef) cheeks and dessert. They were pretty good. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 mostly because for the prices I paid, and the hype and expectations I’ve had, I expected a little more in terms of quality or portion size. Nonetheless might come back again.

I was recommended this place by someone on the street n I had no idea what’s good food to order at first place. So I just looked around n saw what other people had. Omg ! The food I had were all marvelous! The best one was the most tender pork cheek I hv never had, the egg with foie was the most popular one ( so so many ppl ordered this one) n the squid risotto with aioli was very tasty as well. There were a lot of ppl but I still enjoyed the service from the bar. Especially Jokin, he was nice n patient with customers although the place was crazy packed! Definitely recommend this place!

What a find! This bustling little place offers a menu for 45 euro that includes four small plates including croquettes, the most amazing jambon Iberica, mushroom stuffed peppers, followed by a fish (grilled cod with ratatouille) course, meat dish (super tender pork cheeks with mashed potatoes), and desert. The wine list is well-priced and extensive with plenty of local wines. They also sell bottles to go in their shop, along with food items. Service is really helpful and the atmosphere is casual and lively. We will definitely be back!

It was really good food, we really enjoyed both the food and the service. But my partner didn’t get full or satisfied. However, he is not so culinary. His favorite food is soggy, disgusting fries that has been stored either in his pants or his mattress for at least a few days, so I wouldn’t trust him to much. He also likes to poach animals for fun, so his ethics is not so good either. But still, his rating is what I give and what I trust. Enjoyable, but we were missing some sides to our meat dishes.

We ate the tasting menu at the restaurant and had tapas at the bar on separate occasions. Both were great! All dishes were really delicious but stand outs were the foie with egg potato purée and mushrooms (we ordered more of this dish after trying the first one), ham with bread, the squid with onion sauce, veal cheeks, and the red berry gratin with cheese icecream - this dessert surprised us as it didn’t look like much but was SO good, and we had to come back for another one before we left Bilbao!
