We made a booking one month in advance, table for seven , no restrictions at that time. One hour before the lunch we were obligated to have a menu. By the time we reach the restaurant we found out that the other tables were ordering what they wanted. We were served a salad which was taken from a plastic bag (in summer in Spain, fresh lettuce is easier to find than Wally in a comic). Nothing is cooked in place. We ordered vegan rolls for 2 and no vegan for five, how unbelievable was that that the two vegans dish was double the five non vegans… They have an open window to the preparation room (kitchen) And I could see how unhappy the salad preparatory was, the guy was taking the jam from a plastic slices packs and as we are in Spain, where you can find cut jam everywhere … this gives you an insight of the low quality you will eat. We were attended after all the other people which by the way arrived later than us. We were not in a hurry and I would have not complained but please, see the pictures of the food and since the kitchen had a window I could see how the guy in the kitchen was preparing the dishes. The cheese cake was tasty and the bathroom quite clean with paper and soap. I don’t recommend this place. We tried to approach the mètre as we thought it was a bad or hard day and his answer was that we you could have gone to another place. In such an important day in Bilbao you must book in advance so that was not an option at all… I don’t know what happened to this place as it used to be nice and with good treat and food There are many restaurants around, don’t threaten yourself and book...
Read moreWell, what a find for us! We walked past this place Monday when it was closed, but I took a photo of the vintage sign outside. Passing today we found it open so popped in. Local craft beers are dispensed over 7 taps. I decided to try the apricot sour. Great condition. There was a very tempting cheesecake looking cake on the counter, so I thought I’d give it a try. Turns out it’s a baked lemon cake. The pairing of that with my apricot sour was my culinary highlight of the day.
The menu looks interesting, and I’d like to try the food at another time when we return. The barman was friendly and chatty with us. He’s recommended another craft beer joint that he loves so that’s next on our walkabout of the day. For me this has been my favourite find of my current...
