Good food but poor service. I feel the place is confused between fine dining and a bar, and maybe the service and my expectation reflects that.
We were not greeted or Welcomed, no one explained the menu, and In general the service felt rushed and cold. No sooner had I got halfway through a plate the waitress was constantly looking to check if I had finished. As soon as one had been eaten the next was there. With often one plate been lifted while another put down. Some space between courses is needed.
The ceviche was incredible, but On the five course tasting menu two of the meat dishes use the exact same presentation and sides of crispy onions, quinoa etc. Which felt uncreative
No plates were explained to us, which again for a tasting menu with strange cuts of meat is essential. We both ate the second course presuming we just had gotten extremely fatty pork. Which turned out to be the cut of meat. A small explanation of what I am about to eat is the norm for tasting menus, as when serving fish with various caviars, or interesting meats and sauces it is needed
I had an issue with a cocktail at the end. I asked for margarita with mezcal, which is what I always drink. It’s normally fine, but here seemed to be an issue. When it arrived the drink was so sweet and with so much salt there was no way to taste the mezcal. It was a poor quality cocktail. By this point we had the feeling the waitress hated us, and the energy was awful, despite having only made simple requests throughout the night. We had the 9 course tasting menu - amazing dishes throughout, the serving size is very generous for the price which was €57 per person. Especially loved the seabass ceviche, steak tartar, scallops, and sweetbreads. The desserts were absolutely insane, 10/10 amazing quality and the perfect end to the meal. The homemade kombucha was also great and they also do fantastic cocktails. The only dish we weren't in love with was the gnocchi - it was still good but didn't quite pack the flavour punch of the other dishes!
I was blown away by this restaurant - the food, the service and the price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get and the incredibly high quality of the food.
