La Gaviota — Restaurant in Blanes

No wonder why the restaurants on the left and on the right were full and not this one. We were super excited to have our first restaurant after months of lockdown. The food had nothing special but prices are reasonable and we did not expect anything but enjoying a nice moment with nice weather. But, OMG, what an unpleasant owner ! The old guy was just tired of his life, and simply "throwing" food at our table. Till the end, when I asked for the bill, he was not willing to give us the credit card option - only cash. He did not even say "gracias', no "hasta luego", nothing... shocking. With such a service, I guess the place should have remained closed forever after lockdown. An insider tip! We were rather disappointed with the culinary offerings in Blanes. Frozen fish is served almost everywhere, the staff is rather unmotivated and stressed, and the quality of the food falls into the fast food category. It's different at La Gaviota. A kind local man we randomly bumped into recommended this restaurant to us. I was apprehensive at first due to the low Google rating - but I was blown away by the quality of the food! The fish was amazing and perfectly grilled. Good portion size and good price. No one here speaks English but it’s perfectly fine - there are pictures on their menu.
