We've been traveling in Portugal and Spain since Oct 1st and I have to say that this was the worst experience we've had so far. Food was really tasty but it was the first time we came across a server that acted like the one we had this evening. We stopped by during the day and made a reservation and the girl was really nice. The waiter that helped us this evening was just the opposite though. I don't expect everyone to speak English, but it's nice when we encounter people that appreciate the effort we make when trying to speak Spanish - which wasn't the case at all. He made us feel uncomfortable and ignored us the entire time we were there. I had to get up and go ask for a glass of wine TWICE when I could see he was "busy" changing the TV channels. When we finished eating I just walked to the counter to pay. He gave us the bill and turned his back to us. The girl that was there this afternoon was the one giving us the change. Not sure what his problem is when dealing with tourists that don't have Spanish as their first language. We always try to speak the language since we like to be respectful so we expect the same from the locals. Delicious Regional Food with a Special Touch. Absolutely wonderful food and great service! The restaurant can be busy, and sometimes you must be patient but it’s worth it. The staff is friendly and professional and the atmosphere very comfortable. From the tables outside (with water mist for cooling in summer), to the dining room, and the bar you can have a fantastic lunch, dinner, or tapas at the 8 Arte. The menu has many dishes to choose from and they come fresh from a traditional regional, or national menu but with a special combination of ingredients, sauce, or cooking method. The portions are generous and reasonably priced. Of the 6 days I was in Cáceres, I ate here 5 times and had a great experience every time. (They are closed on Wednesday or it might have been 6 or 7 times! They also do not close at mid-day so it’s nice if you want to have a late lunch or early dinner.) Nos recomendaron este sitio en otro bar que estaba lleno. Una experiencia nefasta. Cuando pruebo un sitio si no me gusta mucho por tema se comida no suelo poner mala reseña ya que puede ser que mi gusto no sea el de los demás, pero en esta ocasión nos hemos sentido engañadas e incluso maltratadas. Al llegar estaba llena la terraza y decidimos esperar, vinos una mesa libre con dos sillas y le preguntamos al camarero (Carlos? De perilla Ali y delgado con pendientes) si podíamos sentarnos aunque no éramos 3. De una forma muy mal educada nos dijo que no, que solo dos. Respetamos lo que nos había dicho y esperamos de pie 35 min a ver si alguien de las otras mesas con más sillas se iba. Cuando se quedo una libre nos vemos sentamos, el camarero del principio nos estuvo ignorando otros 30min y tuvimos que llamarlo. Fue borde en todo momento, le pregunté por cosas de la carta y me hablaba de forma vulgar sin querer ni limpiarnos la mesa y sin querer tomar la nota. No conforme con eso nos tuvo otra media hora para limpiar la mesa pero no conforme con eso en la mesa que nos dijo que no nos podíamos sentar se sentaron 3 chicas, no dos, TRES. “Carlos” se acerco a la mesa y les tomó nota. Podéis imaginaros nuestra cara al ver que para empezar a ellas (que no tenemos nada en contra de la ellas por supuesto) les deja sentarse en la supuesta mesa de 2 personas y a nosotras no, y encima les atiende y le limpia la mesa antes que a nosotras que ya llevábamos 1HORA ESPERANDO. Pero esto tristemente no es todo. No volvió a nuestra mesa a cogernos la comanda de la comida tuvo que venir otro camarero, le dijimos que si no nos pensaba atender y ya aprovechamos para decirle que nos parecía discriminatorio lo que nos había hecho a lo que respondió que las chicas de esa mesa habían dicho que ellas asumían pagar la multa si llegaba la policía por sentarse ahí 3 personas. Nos pareció raro. Nos atendió una chica muy amable el no volvió. Terminamos de comer y nos siguió atendiendo Jorge, un camarero de los pies a la cabeza. Nos acercamos a la mesa de las chicas para despejar las dudas de si se verdad les había dicho Carlos que ahí no se podían sentar 3 personas y que si les multaban ellas pagarían la multa a lo que por sorpresa nuestra nos dijeron las chicas muy amables que eso no había sucedido en ningún momento. Que nadie les había dicho que no podían sentarse ahí y que ellas no sabían nada de ninguna multa. Increíble, muy decepcionada con el trato.
