Avoid this place! I would give zero stars if possible. We stopped there mid morning only because one of our party was feeling faint and needed to eat/drink something. Firstly the waiter took ages to come. We asked for some jamón serrano and he told us no, not possible. I saw him come out with a plate with ham on it, so I asked if that plate has ham on it, why is it not possible to order it? He replied, oh, that is a tostado con jamón! I said well can't we order that? And he said ok! Why didn't he just suggest that in the first place instead of just saying no, not possible? And then once it arrived, in fact we wished it hadnt. It had the texture of the sole of my shoe :( The bread/toast was also stale. I also asked for a cold chocolate milk. He brought me a sachet of chocolate powder and a cup of lukewarm milk - the cup was full but only the size of a thimble :(. I had to ask for a glass to be able to mix the powder into the milk. After scanning the menu were told that menu was not available. We only had a choice of daily specials which were all full meals. We only wanted a light lunch menu. Eventually, another menu appeared which compared to the other restaurants on the plaza, was very overpriced.
Thankfully our drinks arrived because we sat there for an hour waiting for someone to take our order. We called the wait staff over numerous times yet they still ignored us. We gave up and left. Although, we did have to pay €7 for 2 beers.
There are much better value for money places on the plaza with efficient and friendly service. Avoid this restaurant. I wish we could...
Read moreWe enjoyed our time here. The staff were pleasant. They allowed us to use our best (not very good) Spanish. We had a drink first with a plate of nice olives, while we waited for the kitchen to open at 8pm. We then ordered a simple tapa to share and an 'arroz meloso a la torta de casar'. This was a delicious cheese, mushroom and onion risotto. It was very good. Coffee, an extremaña dessert, an extremaña liqueur helped to finish things off. In all we had 2 beers, 3 glasses of wine, and a bottle of water, and bread. It came to 33 Euros. Given the location I think that...
