"Well, we thought we'd have a nice drink among the locals at El Baron. Cozy! You know how it is, especially in such a beautiful city like Cordoba. But what turned out to be the case: one big arrogant rude disappointment!! Let me explain: you ask for a beer and an Aperol spritz. Nice, right? And yes, they have it too. Top notch at El Baron! Well, not really. They throw those delicious drinks into cardboard. Yes, cardboard cups. So I politely ask if they could put it in a glass. The answer is no, because you are outside. Yes, so? No chance, outside you drink from cardboard says Mr. Arrogance! We go outside and what do you think?? Everyone is drinking their drink from a glass. So we ask again to a sweaty nervous running waiter if he might want to exchange our cardboard for glass. But this man looked at us as if he saw water burning. He said, you are not at a table and then you don't get a glass. While everyone was just drinking from a glass. Then this idiot also thought we were standing in his way and asked us to move aside. Our answer was a clear no and I can only conclude that this was justified. However, in hindsight the man was right. It is an absolute dump where you don't want to be seen with any decency. The highest compliment I can pay to this bar is that if lived in Córdoba, this would undoubtedly be my local. In wondering around the Judería and Centro areas of the city, I happened on this bar twice by accident and enjoyed it so much, I made sure I had time for a final drink here on my last night. On those 3 separate occasions, the vibes were immaculate (mostly locals in the evening), the service (from 3 different servers) was top class and on every occasion, the value for money was incomparable. Great vivide atmosfere, both day and night, we tried it twice during 24 hours of our staying in Córdoba. This is a local bar with good offer of spanish wines, great local beers, even craft ones (La Bandolera). Prices are more than decent - around 3 euros each.
