I was in Granada and Cordoba for a week and this was one the highlights of the trip. You are served homestyle food with a lot of love and pride from the owner. I ordered the salmorejo con jamon and presa iberica (I wanted to order the rabo de toro but he insisted I get this pork dish). Even before I got the salmorejo, he gave me a complementary small plate of cheese and sausage to eat with the tino con limon that I was having. The salmorejo and secreto iberico were tasty and were accompanied by packaged bread.
I was at Regadera the day before which served plates that were more refined and complex but I enjoyed the experience at El Paseo Iberico a lot more because of the hospitality and the authenticness of the food prepared by a Cordoban using his family recipes. At the end of the meal, he left me a short glass and an entire free bottle of Pedro Ximenez (he said to me this is how Cordobans finish this meal).
I have been living in Spain for two years. This is one of my top food experiences. Central Cordoba, especially around the Mezquita-Cathedral, is full of tourist traps. This is not one of them. If you want to savor the local cuisine that is presented with genuine warmth at a reasonable price, then this is...
Read moreA real gem here. Mr Almigaro has excellent gastomic taste and personally prepares the dishes served. I returned 3 times to sample his excellent gastomic delights. The chorizo served was among the best I have sampled. The tomato alinado was a great highlight and memorable dish. As special variety of tomato bursting with flavour and ripeness with dried garlic salt. I will never forget the taste. The cooked jamon served on grilled mushrooms worked very well and very tasty. And the rabo de toro among the best I have tasted in Spain with a very flavoursome thick sauce. My only suggestion for improvement would be to offer some potato dishes to compliment it. All finished by Mr Almigaro's complimentary bottle of pedro ximénez (and if you are lucky served with biscuits) I must have also mention the complimentary olives served were very delicious. An excellent expression of Andalusian cuisine. I will definitely return on...
