Bland and Boring in a Historic Town
While this hotel has all the amenities and facilities of a classic Marriott, the problem with this place is it is quite devoid of character in a town that is celebrated for its historic character. And since it is located also in a place that is far removed from the heritage old town, you feel like you are in a very different place and not in a town with a Medieval heart
DINE + DRINK: Lobby level restaurant w
re the breakfast is served, which is not too bad to wake up for.ROOM: We stayed in 422, which was a JUNIOR SUITE, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Decent view of the street and cityscape; SIZE: Reasonably spacious suite with a living room and a compact Bedroom; AIR-CON: The room was unbearably HOT throughout the day as they neer had a cooler and we just couldn’t manage to stay in. That is the very reason this is getting a 3-star rating! BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Bathtub based shower; TOILETRIES: AC Marriott branded cosmetics that were just OK.
FACILITIES: Compact Gym with a basic range of weights and cardio machines, but the basement setting might make you almost claustrophobic
SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout out to
HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Extremely slow and flaky Wifi which hampered most of our work plans and we had to use our Mobile data to get our work tasks taken care of! Very disappointing and didn’t expect this from a Marriott Business hotel!!. Big Plasma TV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment - but primarily in...
Read moreMy Wife and I just want to send our sincere thanks to Macarena at the AC Cordoba who went above and beyond our expectations. She treated my wife like her own kids. My wife developed hives from what do not know, however when we went to the original doctors adjacent to the hotel, the office told us they do not have any openings until the next week. This did not help as we were leaving Cordoba that day and there was a slight language barrier as we were not fluent in Spanish. I had reached out to another employee at the hotel(could not remember her name) to see if she can call the office to see if they can help us. When I came back to the desk, I was met with Macarena, who walked my wife and I over to another urgent clinic office on the other side of the block that would be able to take us as walk ins. This is where our expectations were blown away. Not only did Macarena communicate for us, she came into the office with us to talk to the doctor, she even went back numerous times to the hotel to get cash, since we weren’t carrying local currency(Used credit card for all our purchases), she even walked over with us to the pharmacy to collect my wife’s prescription, and when my wife was not feeling good from the steroid injection(I took her back to the room), Macarena even picked up the medication and hand delivered it to our room. We were blown away by this, we have never come across someone so kind and helpful ever! We just wanted to say thank you so much, from both of us, and may god bless her heart. She is THE biggest asset to your company. All managers should be more like her. Thank...
Read moreI travelled as a solo with a tour group. Came here from Granada where the hotel restaurant was not good for vegetarian diets. Extremely disappointed at my first meal here in that their idea of the starter was to just serve the salad bed without the salmon that everyone else had without any substitute despite me saying earlier that I would expect something in place of the meat. That message was conveyed to the chef who decided otherwise. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. The days of just giving vegetarian guests the salad garnish/bed should be in the past. A 4 star hotel should be able to adapt a meal in a positive manner rather than just remove meat, and should appreciate the negative impact this has on guest experience.
The room is comfortable, with coffee machine and tea facilities. The WiFi works well in my room. Toiletries include shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. Location wise, a bit of a walk to the main areas but relatively easy and via gardened paths. Check in was efficient. Unfortunately I can back up other comments on noise. I have room 102 at the junction and haven't slept due to beeping from the crossings and numerous reversing vehicles on nearby roadworks. The traffic is noisy but on its own wouldn't have kept me awake. Whilst it's outside the control of the hotel, it's a...
