Absolutely one of the worst restaurants around. The waiters are inattentive and rude. You will wait around 15-20 minutes till someone comes and takes your order, then never to be seen again. They are also clumsy and often drop things or even spilling the drinks on themselves, they more look like seasonal workers. Food is bad, they don't know how to properly cook a fish or deliver it, it'll be dried, cold, and tasteless. They will bring a bread on table without you asking and charge you almost 3 Euros for it. They don't speak a single word of English, which is fine, but be prepared if you don't speak Spanish it's gonna be a nightmare. I ordered deep fried anchovies and received a single anchovy on a dried bread, even though I pointed out what I wanted :) Either they intentionally bring you the least sold items to get rid of their stock or simply can't communicate and will ignore you after. It's very expensive compared to the service they provide, making them just another tourist...

We wandered up from our small hotel in San Basilio and found El Ovilio . It’s a very hot night , still about 34C but beautifully cool in the bar . Two cold beers , a mixed salad with tuna , a piece of grilled salmon and my absolute favourite , the oxtail , braised with sweet vegetables and falling off the bone . We had glasses of red and rose wine . My wife had a chocolate dessert and an espresso . I had more red wine ! Superb food and I called on the chef to congratulate him . He was overjoyed .Our waiter was superb , a cut above the usual friendly but not all that experienced waiting staff we have encountered . The bill was a bit under €80 , a lot less than we pay at home in Australia for this quality of service and food . Well...

My friend and I recently visited El Olivia for lunch, but unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired. We started with the croquettas, which were disappointingly cold in the center. This suggested a lack of attention to detail in the kitchen, as properly prepared croquettas should be hot and crispy throughout. For my main course, I opted for the daily fried fish special.
