The place is super charming and the food is good. But it was definitely the most unpleasant experience in a restaurant in Spain so far, especially with an expectation of 4.8 rating. As we arrived we noticed the waiter seemed stressed or in a bad mood, either way, that was a missed sign from the universe for us to turn back and try somewhere else. The place was super cold, it is not heated and the door doesn’t fully close. It is a no go for a cold night, though I am sure it is lovely in a summer day. The portions are small, as some review say, which is okay, each restaurant has its approach, so prices are in the high side. But honestly, the amount of pitta, 4 little pieces (see picture) was a bit short. But then again, we were okay to pay for an extra portion if we ever managed to get it. We asked 3 times, and after 20 minutes we were too cold and too annoyed, so we decided to leave. The staff seemed stressed, so I don’t know if someone was missing and we were just unlucky, but I will not try my luck...
Read moreSuch a disappointment. We came expecting Arab food with a Spanish flourish, but the dishes were uniformly bland. Even the tzatziki had no hint of garlic, and the pita triangles tasted reheated. Two mocktails and a non-alcoholic sangria cost as much as a fine glass of Spanish wine elsewhere.
Service was chaotic. Despite handing the waiter (since he a struggling) a written order, items were forgotten. The lamb dish arrived without the promised “smoky blackened rice,” then reappeared as chicken on rice, then as lamb on boring yellow rice—each time with staff insisting we were wrong. When we tried to give feedback on the meal, they argued with us and questioned whether we’d ever eaten Arab food before.
We skipped dessert and left nearly €80 poorer after one of the dullest meals we’ve had in Spain. The only bright spot was the fattoush salad—fresh, but basically a Greek salad with a bit of mango.
With so many excellent restaurants in Córdoba, I’d strongly suggest...
Read moreOne of the few halal restaurants in Córdoba. The service and hospitality from Laundres and Samara was top notch. These ladies are very kind and worked hard making sure patrons were full and happy. Excellent service from both of them. We enjoyed conversing with Laundres. Beautiful and clean atmosphere. I loved all the Arabic decorations.
Unfortunately, the food was a bit of a disappointment and overpriced. To be reasonable, my husband and I had just visited Morocco the week prior, so we had high expectations for Moroccan cuisine. We ordered the chicken couscous, lamb tangine, veal kofta, and a pot of Moroccan mint tea. The couscous, lamb, and veal were decent, but my vegetables were hard and tasteless, as the chicken was tasteless. I could not believe a medium pot of Moroccan mint tea was 6 Euros! It was incredibly oversteeped that even with a whole packet of sugar it still tasted bitter. Please improve the food and this restaurant would be...
