La Plazuela — Restaurant in Cabrales

My recommendation is to go here to eat. They have reserved tables for lunch and dinner food so you can grab one of these or queue for a very short time. Service is highly efficient, friendly and the menu is helpfully in Spanish and English. We ate the sweet onion with meat, local cheese croquettes and braised apple, cabrales cheese, walnut and lettuce salad. All the food is delicious - the onions were tender, and sweet with a tasty meat filling and the salad is my favourite yet full of sweet apple and tangy cheese ( I've eaten many salads!). We were so full we took time over our coffee and enjoyed watching the pretty square in front of the restaurant. Rude beyond belief! Arrived at 6.30pm to have a beer after an exhausting day in the mountains. We were the only people there and we sat at one of about 15 empty tables. It was not prepared for eating. The waiter came over and told us we had to stand as the tables were for people who were eating (even though the kitchen was not yet open). Lugar de la visita: La Plazuela Fecha de la visita: 12/08/2017 Este bar está situado en medio del pueblo, en una zona peatonal, rodeado de otros establecimientos de restauración, en una pequeña plaza, de ahí su nombre. El interior del local no es muy grande, si bien en el exterior tienen muchas mesas en la terraza. Fundamentalmente ofrecen tapas y tostas. Estuvimos tomando una clara de limón y un nestea a precio razonable. El servicio fue un poco lento, si bien como estábamos haciendo una parada no nos preocupó demasiado.
