So disappointing! I lost my happiness in this restaurant! Sad experience!!! Inside restaurant was crazily hot! So we asked them for an outdoor sit and that's why waited almost half an hour for a sit become empty. Almost 10 min after us, a couple came to restaurant door, checked the menu with hesitation, and the lady went inside and talked, then the gentleman after few minutes checking menu went inside. It was obvious that they just were passing and decided to eat there. We waited and suddenly 2 tables became empty, one inside and another outside. When we wanted to sit outside, the lady first said sure but then after 2 min talking with other waiter came and said the table already occupied!!!! And asked us to go inside!!! It was so so upsetting. To cover their behaviour, she told us that their all outdoor tables are reserved!!!! Really ???!! If so why when 30 min before we asked for out door table, you accepted and asked us to wait until one become empty?! So disappointing! When she saw my face, she tried to change our table to a table under air conditioner! The problem was that also this table was not at all having better condition!! Even if it had, the first disrespectful behaviour to people could not be fixed by these type of acts! Any way, I asked cow fillet. It was so chewy and salty. The fried potatoes also was greecy and very salty. So, if this restaurant people were planned to make sure I will not go there again, they were totally...
Read moreLas Arenas boasts several restaurants, and to my surprise, they were all packed, with long waiting lines spilling out into the streets. Having just arrived in the village without a reservation, I found myself turned away by a few places. Eventually, I made my way to Santelmo, which was just as bustling as the rest. Luckily, I snagged a spot at the bar—and what a memorable experience it turned out to be.
I ordered the house wine, a local specialty, and a steak that caught my eye as my bar neighbor was devouring it with his hands, savoring every bite and licking his fingers with satisfaction. When my steak arrived, I understood why. Perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor, it was tender, juicy, and full of rich, smoky goodness.
Despite the hectic atmosphere, the service was commendable—attentive and friendly, even with the restaurant buzzing with activity. The staff managed to keep things running smoothly, which only added to the overall experience. Whether you're in for a glass of wine or a hearty meal, Santelmo is...
