We stayed here for two nights due to our apartment rental having been double-booked. We were naturally not happy with the situation, and we were not made any happier by the look of the hallway and room in La Fonda. Even though we had a bad first impression due to the look and decor of this hotel, it was not a bad place to stay after all. The rooms and the hotel are very clean, the bathroom is quite spacious and fairly modern, a breakfast is included which consists of Coffee/tea/hot chocolate, fresh orange juice, and croissant/toast/grilled cheese w ham (bikini), and the woman who runs it is very friendly and efficient. There is also a flat screen TV, a fan, windows that open, but no A/C. I should also add that the rooms are quite small in size. Overall, I can recommend this hotel if you want a decent budget hotel and don't care about the decor: it is clean and everything works. Oh yes, the owner also speaks some English, if needed, and there is no elevator to the...

Stroll 15 minutes out the other way and you come to the Dali House in Port Lligat - very convenient. The view from our window was over a construction storage yard (tidy)- not the best - but looking past that into the nature reserve was nice. Breakfast included fresh squeezed OJ, coffee/tea and a choice of 4 items. We only saw the lady owner and she was very super to talk to and deal with. They take their holidays in November, but other than that they are...
