Merder — Restaurant in Cadaqués

Ate at this little place after a recommendation from someone living in Cadaqués and have to say, we were very happy we decided to try it! Some of the best burgers we have had in Spain, all homemade, very creative and unique, and come with regular fries or sweet potato fries. We also had the best cheesecake we have had in a very very long time. The patio outside was very cute and quaint, and it was off the beaten path just slightly so didn’t feel touristy. The food was great and service was quick and friendly. The burger bun was slightly burnt and the fries a bit soggy, but the flavors were still good. They have an interesting take on a chicken burger as it had stracciatella in it which worked really well. The cocktails (mojito and pina colada) were amazing, and my boyfriend loved the Iberian pork dish. We also had nachos as a starter which were very tasty - I’m not usually a fan of guacamole but it was quite light flavoured and I enjoyed it here. Tried the mushroom burger and the chicken sandwich, and both were fantastic!! I came to Spain for the seafood, but I didn’t expect to be eating creative, unique, delicious burgers over here. I was surprised and impressed.

They also have a lovely patio that is sunny, breezy, and comfortable— a great spot for kids.

Finally, the owners here are really nice guys and offer fantastic customer service.
