CAN TIVILL — Restaurant in Calella

Me and my partner have visited this restaurant twice during our trip to Calella, after being recommended by someone who visited two years ago.

On our first visit, the restaurant experienced a power cut, but the staff remained very professional and even provided table lights, which made the experience feel warm and welcoming. The service was exceptional, and all staff spoke very good English and were happy to help. The food was incredible, full of flavour, and very authentic. I tried the paella, which came with pre-peeled seafood — perfect for someone like me who finds peeling prawns off-putting. We also enjoyed the croquettes and “fancy desserts,” which were reasonably priced and unique. The drinks menu was extensive, and we sampled a range of cocktails and sangria, which could be ordered by the glass.

During our second visit, we tried some different dishes and were just as impressed. The Cod dish we were recommended was the best fish dish I’ve ever had — beautifully presented, fresh, and perfectly cooked. My partner had the Hake, which was equally delicious. The atmosphere is very wholesome, often filled with locals, and the staff are always friendly, offering advice on the menu and welcoming us warmly.

Overall, the restaurant feels cozy and authentic, with excellent food and service. We would highly recommend it and will definitely return if we visit...

Can Tivill is a true gem in the heart of Calella.. a breath of fresh air amid the typical touristy fare that dominates the busy center. From the moment we stepped in, it was clear this family-run restaurant is driven by genuine passion and care. Mr. Jordi, the owner, deserves a special congratulations for his kindness and selflessness.. a rare quality that defines the soul of this place.

The service was impeccable, warm yet professional, and the food? Outstanding. The paella “Senyoret” was easily in the top three I’ve had in Spain over the past year.. rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The dessert selection and presentation were both inventive and playful, completely winning over our little daughter and leaving a lasting impression.

What really says it all is the clientele.. about half the tables were filled with locals, always a good sign, and now we know why. Can Tivill isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience, and one we’ll remember fondly. Bravo to...

After some miserable meals on a tour guided trip to Europe, a group of us headed out to find some better eats. We stumbled on this place and gave it a shot. I had the sole, the others had versions of their paella. From our teenagers to adults our entire meal was absolutely incredible. Attentive staff that swooped in and took care of every need without being intrusive. Helped me with celebrating my husbands 58th birthday. And the desserts… just get the chocolate egg and enjoy the surprise.
