Two words: Just Bad.
I’m a foodie and connoisseur in my leisure time so I know my stuff.
Lovely restaurant atmosphere, made to look like a fancy restaurant which was deceiving. Ordered a standard pizza and pasta, so can’t go wrong right..? No, food arrived 10 mins later. Food tasted like pre-heat instant ready meal food. You can get this for €4 from the supermarket and heat it up yourself in the microwave.
Pasta was €13 but the portion was tiny, sauce was extremely salty and only a sprinkle of meat, literally little to no meat at all. It was basically just sauce and pasta. I suspect they are saving money on meat cost or heavily seasoning it to conceal its not fresh. Or both if I have to make a guess.
Pizza tasted terrible too. €11, Tiny. Did not cut for you.
Poor service. Not helpful. Staff pretended didn’t see you when I have been looking around to get the bill. Waiter couldn’t answer me anything when I asked what’s in certain dishes on the menu. The waiter was just there like a robot to take orders, no common sense or problem solving skills… hopefully will be replaced by Tesla AI robotic waiters soon which will be quicker and more intelligent.
Fake Italian food. Would benefit from reading“Hospitality...
Read moreIf there is one thing I have learnt from an Italian friend, judge a pizza on the quality of its ingredients rather than how it looks. After being recommended to visit The Marina restaurant by family saying they serve “the best pizzas” we decided to book a table. The first green flag was that the restaurant was very busy with both locals and tourists, however, it still had a very lovely atmosphere and didn’t feel overcrowded or loud. The servers were polite and helpful to answer any questions we had. We ordered the Mussels and Truffle Bravas to start. The Mussels were very fresh and although the Bravas didn’t look anything special they had a brilliant crunch and depth of flavour. The star of the show however was the Pizzas! They were incredibly fresh and you could watch the chefs in the kitchen make the pizza bases by hand. The staff were very accommodating and allowed us to customise the ingredients on the pizzas. They tasted authentic and had the biggest cheese pull I think I have ever seen. We chose to eat outside under the trees, where they have mist machines to keep people cool while they eat. It was a beautiful relaxing environment only enhanced by the quality...
Read moreOne of our favorite restaurants we tried in town! Our waiter, Eric, was very helpful with recommendations and provided great service. We had such a nice meal. Highly recommend.
There were four of us and decided to go tapas style and split everything. For appetizers we enjoyed the calamari ( calamares romana) and the truffle fries (bravas trufadas).
One of our favorite dishes was a stuffed pasta called fiochetti de pera. This is rich but it’s different and surprisingly sweet inside.
In the assorted pasta dish there was this ravioli that had an almond sauce / almonds inside and that was also pleasantly unique and I could have done a full...
