Bahari Club — Restaurant in Calella

I have never been treated so poorly by both staff and management in any establishment before.

I tried to order a drink at the bar, standing directly in front of several bartenders, and was blatantly ignored. Despite asking multiple times if I could place an order, they simply refused to acknowledge me.

The following day, we made the mistake of returning for lunch. Although there were at least 10 free tables, the owner told us they were all reserved. Strangely, those tables remained empty the entire time we were there. Two kind women were just leaving and offered us their table, which seated four people — we were five. When we politely asked if we could take an extra chair from one of the many empty tables, the staff rudely refused.

To make matters worse, most of the staff didn’t speak English, and those who did were dismissive and unfriendly. While placing my order, the waiter walked away before I could finish. When I asked him to wait, he rolled his eyes and gave me a visibly irritated look.

The food was average — nothing remarkable — but the service was truly unacceptable. I also noticed that the owner responds to negative reviews online claiming they’ll “work on improving,” but based on what I experienced, that seems more like damage control than a genuine intention to do better.

We had our wedding at Bahari Club on 9/4/22 and it was the most perfect, beautiful venue. We planned our wedding entirely from another country, liaising with Tania (the events coordinator) solely via email - we hadn't even visited the venue ourselves and relied only on the photographs available online. To say we were delighted with everything is an understatement... We can't find fault with a single thing. The process of arranging everything was totally stress-free. We hardly added any decoration to the venue because everything was sorted for us and the location speaks for itself. For a beach bar/club there's so much to improve there. To start with the servers, quite rude. They make you feel very unwelcome. Its clear they dont want to serve you and they dont want you there. The food is ok. Over priced for what you get. The drinks are overly priced too. It is something made by someone who has never been a bartender before mixed and poured into a cup. Thats it. Disappointing. Not even tasty. I had better cocktails ( that had the taste of fruits and some alcohol in it!!!) in the nearby bars in Calella. Way cheaper too. Toilets are actually good and clean. So thats what you going to get, not good value for your money, dont expect good customer service or proper hospitality being a holiday...
