I visited Los Olas in Calpe recently hoping for a relaxing meal, but what I got was anything but that. I wish I could say otherwise, but this place does not live up to even the most modest expectations.

What Went Wrong
Staff: Unfriendly, Unhelpful, Uninterested From the moment we walked in, it felt like we were intruding. No greeting, no smiles, no sense of welcome. When we asked questions about the menu, the staff responded tersely and seemed annoyed rather than informative. It was as if they couldn’t care less whether we enjoyed our visit.
Food: Bland, Underwhelming, Disappointing What was served turned out to be a letdown. Portions were small, presentation minimal, and flavours weak. Some items arrived lukewarm, others looked as if they’d been sitting too long. Definitely not worth the price. I might expect mediocre food in a tourist trap—Los Olas didn’t even reach that level.
Cleanliness and Ambience The décor is decent, and views okay if you’re lucky, but the ambience suffers when staff seem disinterested and food disappointing. Tables felt greasy, and the overall vibe was one of neglect rather than hospitality.

Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a place in Calpe where you’ll be treated well and enjoy a good meal, Los Olas is not the one. There are many other cafés and restaurants nearby that put much more care into their service and culinary quality. I so wanted this to be a hidden gem—but it turned out to be one I’d warn...
Read moreBeen coming to Las Olas for 20 years but really disappointed this year. 6 of us went for food then place wasn't busy but got ignored any way. We ordered bread and alioli to have with our drinks before the starters. Sadly it didn't come until asked for again and then came with our starters. The starters were overpriced, I ordered garlic chicken which came and was incredibly greasy swimming in fat, came with fried sliced potatoes which were nice apart from most of them were soaked in grease from chicken. My wife ordered chicken breast and mushroom sauce , the sauce came but they forgot her dinner. Los Olas used to be my favourite restaurant in Calpe. I've been to Calpe twice this year and in a lot of the Spanish restaurants and there is definitely an air of dislike of the British. I hope the place doesn't end up like Majorca, I for one probably won't come...
