Parthenon — Restaurant in Calvià

I have been to Mallorca ten times over the last five years. Been all over the island.

But the best food we’ve had must be the lovely, simple, but very tasty greek food at Parthenon in Peguera.

We went there three times the last two years and every time the food was so simple, perfectly cooked and very tasty. The french fries were crunchy, and every dish was subtle, understated, but with a wonderful, gentle taste of the mediterranian.

I’ve attached a photo of the stifado, which was so delicate. The aromas and herbs of the tomato sauce combined heavenly the beef.

If you want simple, understated Mediterranean food with lovely flavors that takes you instantly to a family dinner in the rural parts of Greece cooked by a local who has done it a thousand time putting their heart and love into the meal - then go to Parthenon in Peguera.

And expect a little waiting time and humble service as part of the experience. This is genuine! Not a fancy waiter sweeping you off your feet, but at the same time serving you mass produced, tasteless food as seen all over.

I sincerely recommend this place if you want a genuine and very tasty Mediterranean meal...

Food is fabulous. Went back twice. Had the Kleftiko the first time and it was gorgeous. Had the mixed gyros the next time - chicken and beef, it was so good! Swordfish was highly recommended as was the moussaka. Wine was served in lovely metal jugs, keeping it cold! The waiter was very pleasant and worked very hard serving all of the tables. Service: Ganz okay. Nicht besonders gut aber auch nicht schlecht

Trinken: Auf der Karte steht 0.33l bei den Softdrinks, am Ende haben wir aber nur 0.2l bekommen (war aber auch etwas günstiger als der Preis bei 0.33l), keine Eiswürfel (war dementsprechend bei dieser Hitze schnell warm)

Essen: -Salat Vorspeise: Eigentlich nur Blattsalat, eine halbe Tomatenscheibe und eine ganz dünne Gurkenscheibe, und Dressing -Gyros Metaxa Special: Gyros nicht frisch vom Spieß, Metaxa Sauce nicht so geschmacksintensiv -Dorf (Gyros&Hähnchenbrust): Gyros ebenfalls nicht frisch, Hähnchen war nicht schlecht, Tzaziki war sehr gut aber leider zu wenig für diese Portion gewesen

Preisleistung: Wir haben ~35€ bezahlt und finden den Preis nicht gerechtfertigt

Fazit: Für das Geld wären wir lieber in Deutschland beim Griechen essen gegangen. Wir waren die einzigen im Lokal (Mittags) und wurden die ganze Zeit vom Besitzer und noch einer Person aus dem inneren des Restaurants angestarrt. Wir würden aufjedenfall nicht empfehlen hier essen zu gehen, da findet man in der Umgebung viel besseres zu...
