Restaurante rendezvous — Restaurant in Calvià

DO NOT TRY HERE BRITS, rude staff, poor food, and terrible service - not a smile in sight from servers. As a couple that works as a head chef and a manager of a restaurant in England we were appalled by this place. The venue itself is lovely and in the right hands could be something special. If you didn't speak German or Spanish the staff seemed to have zero interest in you aside from the vibe of eatdrink your drinks and get the hell out (which unfortunately wasn't mirrored in their treatment of their regular German holidayers which they seemed to favour over anyone of any other nationality), and the food whilst presented well, lacked any seasoning whatsoever or finesse. My partner (who has been a chef for the past 9 years in various high level restaurants) couldn't eat more than a few bites of the grilled chicken, salad and potatoes, which hadn't been seasoned with anything other than grill grease on the chicken. Location is lovely and staff are incredibly friendly. They also speak English and German.

However the food was underwhelming. I ordered the grilled fish and bruschetta. The fish dish was okay with lemon, salt and pepper it was nice. The biggest problem is with the bruschetta. First time it came, it had in 1 of the breads a spoiled tomato!! I called the waiter and he was nice, took it back and got me another plate. The second time it had an ant (picture below). I didn’t want to be annoying so I just stopped eating and didn’t say anything. When I was paying, I told the waitress (another one from the earlier gentleman), she told me it must have flew from the air, it’s normal!

Whenever I was there the staff-team was always friendly and in a good mood. The menu is huge and when you order the right menu you get a huge plate of food for a cheap price. I don't recommend getting the Lasagne, it tastes very good but the amount, which you receive, isn't really worth the price. In reference to other restaurants the food here is really amazingly made out of fresh ingredients. During evening and night time they also perform live music.
