Ristorante Classico — Restaurant in Calvià

Hard to put into words how awful this experience was. When we arrived and gave our name for the booking that we made the hostesses ears pricked up and she came rushing across the restaurant to intervene and give us a thorough dressing down loudly in front of the entire Restaurant for being 30 minutes late. We weren’t late at all (all four of us heard the booking time that was agreed) but that’s not the point. Even if we were late, the amount and tone of the abuse that we got was utterly unacceptable. She went on and on about not being a robot and that this wasn’t McDonald’s, and how we needed to treat her with respect. She also claimed that she’d had to turn away people for tables to be able to hold our table for us but, as it transpired, there were three of four tables free for the entire night. The badness didn’t end there, unfortunately. We all ordered pizzas because, after all, the place is called a “ristorante pizzeria”, but these Pizza were, at best, average. One of us asked for an extra ingredient not in the menu listing, to which her abrupt response was” it already has it on it” We said we wanted extra she said okay but with a really menacing grin on her face. When pur pizza arrived it didn’t have any of the ingredients we asked for and we saw her smiling at us across the restaurant. The other staff were wonderful, smiley, helpful and seemed to be… well, normal. Unlike the rather nasty hostess. As a party of six including grandparents and grandchildren, we didn’t really have much choice, we have to stay, but we really wanted to leave. When we left, I went to have a conversation with the hostess to explain how to satisfied we had been, but she got more and more abusive and so I had to leave. I think she even uttered some kind of obscenity at me (not in English or Italian) which I didn’t understand, after I walked out. If you read this review, I would encourage you to think twice about eating in this place. Having read the reviews, we’re not the only people to have experienced this rudeness. Mediocre food that is not authentic coupled with unfathomable abusive service is not an Italian recipe we’re keen to repeat. Life is too short to be endure this kind...

I'm writing this review at the request of my 80 year olds parents in law, as they're not very internet savvy, because they wanted to let everyone know what bad service and bad food they had in this restaurant a few days ago. This seems to be a running theme lately, so I'm not sure if the restaurant has changed staff in the kitchen and in the restaurant itself? Anyway.. here copied and pasted are their comments:-

".....Surly service, favours foreign tourists not English. Chef went round some tables greeting, but not ours. Pasta not nice - all dry. Ordered choc cake for desert and got 3 scoops ice cream with an expresso!! after showing waitress on menu again , then got choc but all stale & hard, then got charged for ice cream. The atmosphere wasn’t good at all..."

My parents-in-law experience reminded me that I had to tried to reserve a table several days in advance in this restaurant in the summer and the member of staff was quite abrupt on the phone and couldn't get rid of me quick enough. Sounds like some of your staff need a good lesson in customer service!!

Judging by the owners responses to bad reviews left by other people,no doubt I will get some sort of nasty reply saying that they don't know who I am & there is nothing wrong with their food ...but take heed and avoid...

So me and My Wife Came to this restaurant And I feel totally disrespected and unhumanised complete disrespect from the moment that we entered the restaurant My Wife wanted to use the toilet and she told us that this is not a cheap bar that she cannot use the toilet wouldn’t we order our food? She gave it to us in takeaway boxes when we went to eat our food They come out and told us that this is not a takeaway restaurant and shouted in our faces there was a gentleman called David who was very respectful to us, but there was a lady here and she treated us with nothing but disrespect from the moment that we arrived I would not advise to go to this restaurant also the chef came out and shouted in my wife’s face and I have the video also to prove it do not go to this restaurant as the people will treat you with nothing but disrespect from the...
