Location is fantastic, and staff very attentive .

We had the fish croquettes and salmon maki rolls to start and they were excellent - highly recommended .

For main course we ordered the grilled seafood platter - it is their most expensive dish but we really wanted to try the mixed seafood . Sadly it was very disappointing . It looked impressive when it turned up , but failed To live up to expectations .The good bits were the razor clams and prawns , freshly cooked and very tasty . The queen scallops were freshly cooked but overdone and chewy . The mussels and clams were cold , and the lobster was obviously a pre cooked one that was reheated under the grill - very dry and tough . You’ll see in the picture that it was served she’ll side up - This should’ve been a give away .

With hindsight , we should’ve sent it back, but we left the lobster til last and we’d had a great first day and didn’t want to spoil it .

We thought we were on a safe bet picking a signature dish from the menu , but it was probably the worst seafood platter we have ever had - shame .

Oh and the chips were good ….

Best value menu del dia in Santa Ponsa. €9 for three courses wine bread water freshly prepared and excellent service. Call for a drink early evening and leave feeling fairly charged. Under the previous owner I stand by five stars. Now the price has increased by 60% and value has diminished. Tuna salad is more tidy on presentation but smaller in volume, main course one of the two fillets of bass still on the bone. Excellent chips. Single glass of wine that was undrinkable and an extra 2 euros for water pushes the bill to 16.50. The more rustic la Brasa over the road is far better now. Or go to El Maño the other side of the bay where three courses with bread water and wine is 12 euros. And change in main course for off menu plate is...
