Worst dining experience in Palmanova yet. Everything was off from the minute we set foot into the restaurant, the place was overcrowded leaving the staff quite unfriendly and rushed - however this wouldn’t be a major issue to us as we understand how hectic things can get, this is just something to be noted if good service is important to you. We weren’t asked once if everything was okay and it was near impossible to catch attention of the servers when requesting something. The tables were so close together we may as well have been eating with the couple next to us and it was not even enough room for staff nor customers alike to walk between.
We would’ve gotten over the poor service had the food been good, but I have honestly never tasted anything worse. My carbonara may as well have been a bowl of salt, I left the restaurant dehydrated and with sore lips due to the amount of salt in the dish. I wish I was exaggerating and just being a picky customer but we are not fancy or high expectation people - in fact we felt out of place is such a fancy looking restaurant, but I have never been so dissatisfied with a meal. I ate a few bites due to being so hungry (and knowing the price I had to pay for it!!) but I had to stop due to the saltiness.
My partner had the lasagne which was not anything amazing either and the small portion definitely not worth the price. Chips have to be bought separately which cost €7 for a tiny plate!
Rossini really stood out to us as a place we needed to try as it always looked busy and has beautiful decor, etc. but we were left extremely dissatisfied for such a pricy (and for me,...
Read moreWe actually wanted to go to Porto but it was really busy. I took a quick look at the menu and thought it was a little pricey but we’ve had very good Italian food before and expected the same on this occasion.
I ordered something easy, lasagne. When done properly it can be a fantastic dish. It was just “meh” and paid about 40% more than what it deserved.
The wife had seafood linguine, which was again, just ok.
We’d ordered a garlic bread with cheese to come with the mains. This arrived at the table about 5 minutes before the actual mains. I asked a waiter to check if it had been ordered to come with the mains and he just carried on wiping a table and pretty much ignored me.
The mains did eventually come out and before I could ask for anything the waiter had run off. I just wanted some cheese for my lasagne.
I tried to get the attention of someone but I couldn’t so I just ended up eating it. About half way through someone came to check on our meals and then offered me cheese at that point.
Tables are too close together. I more less was coupled up with the table next to us and whenever anyone walked past they would nudge my chair in, even though I was as far in as I could go.
If it was about 40% cheaper, it would be a fairly decent restaurant. Literally nothing warrants the price you pay.
They are trying to emulate the success of Barbuda or SiSo. It just has none of the charm to pull it off
We just paid and left. Don’t waste your time or money on this place unless they...
Read moreGet Gordon Ramsey in here! Bland, tasteless, under seasoned…. I ordered the fresh pasta with salmon and tomato, the sauce not only looked like Heinz tomato soup, but tasted like it! (It’s my fave soup) but I don’t wish to pay €23 for a bowl of pasta and minute cubed salmon pieces laced in it.. thank you! And why would you serve cubed salmon? .., yet again tasteless rubbish from a cash n carry! I know it’s not native to the med, but it’s not difficult to get it, and why serve Cherry tomatoes? Completely devoid of seasoning of any form, I had to douse it in black pepper and add my salad to make it edible. That plus the unexpected €5.50 for a 500mil bottle of still water?! They also sat us at the back in front of a large air con/fan that was blowing my daughters long hair so much I thought she was going to get tangled up in it? So we had to shift seats, they seemed totally oblivious… service poor and inattentive as they are just cramming people in. Won’t be returning…, but then I’m sure they couldn’t care less as they’re full every night with tourists lining their seasonal 💰 💰 pockets so they can all rest over the winter rather than pay to go back to...
