The Scotsman Palma Nova — Restaurant in Calvià

Rude staff. No greeting at all ignored us.

My partner asked to see the menu and all he got was a point to where the menus were in the back. When the waitress was going to take the order I asked a question about an item on the menu and I just got an annoyed look.

I asked for the nuggets and chips as I’m much of a plain eater and I was refused as “this is only for children”. I asked if I could get an adults portion and that I didn’t mind paying extra which was again refused.

I explained that that was what I wanted to eat today which was followed with an eye roll, a sigh and a rude “sure love”. My partner was so annoyed he didn’t even want to order anything.

He went to the bar as the waitress had gone into the kitchen and told them to cancel the order we don’t want to eat here anymore. The bar man was as rude as the waitress and completely ignored my partner, when he was the only person standing infront of him in the bar.

My partner repeated himself to which the bar man screamed into the kitchen, “cancel that order” and said nothing else. He gave us a huge grin and a big wave as we left, happy to see us leave. Someone overheard what happened and got up and left aswell.

Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t order here.

Bottom line: very rude...

Been going to this place for almost twenty years -June every year. However the owner was bloody rude to our family on an occasion this year. We’d been in most of the week, one of our party is unwell and can’t eat much so she ordered a kids breakfast - well the eyes rolled, he kicked off and said no, you wouldn’t be able to do that anywhere else would you ?. She was so upset she had to leave the restaurant and was in tears. The men in our party had the large breakfasts as normal so what’s the problem ? Some people are not very well and should be able to buy what they can eat. Will never go in again- the owner and his wife need to learn some decent bloody manners. Customers are your business. I hope you start treating people better or you won’t have a business. I’ve been a landlord of a pub for years and would never treat a customer in that way. Foods not that great either - My recommendation - try somewhere where you are greeted with a smile rather than eye rolling and rudeness that serves nice food. Good view of the beach. Nice food we visited a couple of times for breakfast and lunch. The Cajun chicken wrap was amazing! One of the woman who served us was a bit door faced mind you and put us off going back. She came across quite rude. Not sure if it was just us but by the looks of the reviews from other travellers it maybe isn’t us that’s the problem. No manners whatsoever.
