Utterly bizzare experience.
My partner and I swung by to see if we could get a table, they ended up being full that night so we asked if there was a booking the following evening (Sunday). The owner/server seemed super hesitant to give us that slot, but he did reluctantly and began telling us what to expect with the menu. He seemed irritated that I didn’t eat meat and somewhat patronising about allergens.
We arrived the next evening to a beautiful setting but to a fairly frosty reception from the owner/server. Long story short, we had our different courses but we weren't spoken to when plates were collected, there was no checking in/how is the food - the main feeling was we were made to feel unwelcome.
At the end of the meal (of which we weren’t sure it was the last stage), we sat for 35mins without any direction or offer of a coffee/tea/anything. At this point there were 4 other parties mid course, the server managing them all. My partner got up to pay and we didn’t leave a tip.
Suggestion - if you weren’t able to fit us in, don’t fit us in. I’m sure we would have been able to find a subpar over-priced meal much closer...

The food is extraordinary and each course has its own highlights.
The welcome is warm and honest by the owner who serves the dishes and dues everything else that has to do with service himself The location is tastefully stylish, yet very down to earth and surrounded by a beautiful garden where the homegrown herbs come from (the restaurant exists like this for 22 years and used to be a tennis club until the owners changed their concept). They did quite a job there:
Introduced to Es Coll d'Os' fine cuisine with greetings from the kitchen (salted cantaloupe in olive oil) we started with three starters (pumpkin soup, salmon croquettes and a real good carpaccio). The second course was tasty monkfish in an almond sauce. Just great! Third course was filled aubergine (with some very good minced pork meat. It came along with a zucchini salad with totally hit it off!
Dessert was a chocolate souffle and merengue.
What a great restaurant. We...
Read moreVery good, fresh local dishes in a neat place with extremely friendly service. This family-run restaurant is highly-recommended if you’re looking for upscale cuisine without the fine-dining fuss. They only offer one three-course menu for dinner (although there are three starters combined in the first course). Locally or even hyperlocally-sourced produce (like tomatoes from their own garden) is used.
The terrace is overlooking a well-kept garden and the neighbouring buildings of the town.
Be polite and talk a few words of Spanish, at least to say thank you and goodbye. They will very much...
