La Bistroteca, Cartagena — Restaurant in Cartagena

I’m writing this in English because I don’t think you understand my language — Spanish.

What happened at this restaurant was completely unacceptable and shameful. The owner himself deliberately threw a glass of tinto de verano on three women in our group. This was not a mistake — it was an intentional act, and when we tried to speak to him respectfully, he responded with insults in both English and Spanish.

To make things worse, he later tried to justify his actions by saying I was drunk — which is a complete lie. I don’t drink alcohol at all. So not only did he act aggressively, but he also tried to cover it up with lies instead of taking responsibility for what he did.

Charging people to use the bathroom is already a sign of poor service, but what really defines this place is the total lack of respect, professionalism, and accountability from its owner.

Was looking for a decent burger after a long day. We were not disappointed. When we ordered we were told it would take approximately 20 minutes to prepare. We ordered a couple of tapas dishes while we waited. The chicken and cod dishes were superb and set us up for the main event. I had the Pikara burger with goats cheese and a red pepper sauce. This restaurant has just been taken over by a lovely family and they only opened yesterday. My family and I stopped for lunch this afternoon and it was absolutely fantastic. A great choice of larger tapas style dishes, salads, main meals, food options for children and they even do breakfast, desert and more. Everything we ate was fabulous, as was the coffee and wine. The staff were so attentive, and the service was very quick. The prices were also very reasonable. We will most definitely be back and would recommend La Bistroteca.
