We originally found ourselves in this area because of a recommendation from a local for a restaurant near here. However, it was booked up and we didn't have a reservation so we ended up Varadero. I can say that, in our opinion, a rating in the 3s does not do this restaurant justice. We had a very good paella with fresh seafood. The waiting staff were very attentive and friendly. I see that a lot of the negative reviews were based on non English speaking staff (emm, you're in Spain!? Reviewing badly based on this just shows pure ignorance!) and on waiting times for food (personally if my paella took any shorter that 30 minutes to be prepared, that would be a source of concern. Not the other way around. Length of time is just because that's how long it takes to make a paella dish. Again people rating badly in ignorance). That's not to say the place can't be improved. The paper table cloths give the place a cheap look and I felt the waiting staff were a little pushy in trying to force some desserts on us. However, that said, if you want a decent paella at a reasonable price, you can't go wrong in choosing here. Nevermind the reviews (except this...
Read moreAt arrival the owner said we wouldn't be served if we sat outside in Spanish, because he assumed we didn't speak the language. They directed us to a table for four where the sun was shining directly in our face. After a short wait of 15 minutes they came to us so we could order drinks (we hadn't been given the menu yet) after getting the drinks we finally got the menu and ordered rather quickly, the food however costed them 20 minutes for the first dish, and all the other dishes came with 10 minutes apart each except for the main dish which took them 50 minutes/an hour. When we complained about the waiting times and not having been informed about them the server blamed it on us and said he had told us (which he had not) the paella and calamares were delicious but a bit too salty and they fried the croquettes in the same oil as the fish. Worst experience I've had at a...
