Restaurante Yaho La Manga — Restaurant in Cartagena

8 of us went for lunch at 13:00 on Friday

We sat on the verandah which was perfect, not as dark as it can be indoors, but not in the direct sun either. We all had menu del dia which is an absolute bargain but we aware the cheaper of your drinks will be allocated to the menu ( included) the more expensive will be billed. Not a problem though. The menu starts with a choice of house salad, which had a lovely fruity dressing, or sour/spicy soup which was also very nice. Second course was a choice of beef skewer ( which looked overdone, but was fine,) Spring roll, (quite small,) Chicken wings Main course choices were extensive and I selected lemon chicken, which was tender and tasty Others favoured Thai green curry or duck a l'orange or similar All reported good opinions of the mains. To accompany the main you could specify plain or fried rice, noodles or french fries ( which I had,) I tasted some "spare" noodles and found them very salty and there was about half left over. I also tried some spare green chicken curry, and it was fine. Desserts included ice cream, cheesecake ( I had both!) or fruit. Coffees to finish and all for about €12 per...

Nice restaurant with very good tasting food. The restaurant is located near a busy street and their terras was empty and didn't look very appealing to us due to the location and lack of shade. To us, it was a real surprise to find the inside this very different and around lunchtime the restaurant is fully occupied.

Like last year, also now some mistakes were made (1 main course and side dish wasn't served and the serving waiter just put the food on the table and left without asking of all was OK or if we needed anything else. The same happened with one desert.) Fortunately one of the waitresses spoke English very well and helped to fix this and apologised herself several times. (this was the same lady as last year also back than she was very friendly en really wants to help and make sure things are going all right)

Tip: when in doubt if something isn't served, don't wait but ask immediately so they can help to fix it.

Despite these nuisances, still 4 stars. The food tastes really nice, we like the location and the price is really cheap (so it is very busy and mistakes...

It has been a while for us to find some really good Asian food because unfortunately it's almost always suited towards the local people (usually not too spicy and too sweet) but at Yaho they know what they're doing and just give you the food the way it should be. There's a nice variety of starters and they also have a combo of all of them which is nicely done. As there is a lot to choose from it's difficult to go for all of it but so far we have done the Peking Duck which is very good, the sichuan chicken which is not mouth numbing but holds a spicy bite to it. I don't taste the real Sichuan pepper flavours unfortunately but it gives you a little kick. We also got a little shot of choice (herbas or limoncello) when we asked for the bill. Very good experience.
