Restaurante Es Barranc, Restaurant Cala Galdana — Restaurant in Ciutadella

A lovely warm welcome with food to back it up. This restaurant is the last along the road out of the centre of cala galdana but is worth every additional few steps to go there. The Prawns in Garlic as a starter were plentiful and succulent, just make sure you get some bread to soak up the juices properly. Both the Cod Gratin and the Fish of the Day, Sea Bass did not disappoint. The latter was cooked as the waiter suggested with onions and garlic..so delicious. Both dishes came with baked sliced potatoes that this reviewer would happily have eaten his own bodyweight of.. Finally the Creme Catalana and the Tarta de queso both homemade and luxurious. We look forward to eating again...

Pleasant restaurant slightly away from the main part of town. Went for lunch, food was nice though we had typical British food of chicken and chips and a burger. Which were tasty. Chips were soggy though. However, most guests were having paella or some other seafood dish. All good except did slightly feel like a second class citizen being English. Just a feeling but usually good at trusting my gut feeling. Spanish guests who sat down after us were promptly supplied with olives, I waited a short while then had to ask for olives. Yes only a small thing, but perhaps reflects...

The food and service was excellent this evening. This was our first visit to Es Barranc and we will definitely return. The menu is packed with delicious dishes. The confit duck and stuffed squid were both delicious as were the home made desserts. We found the owner and staff to be very welcoming and the atmosphere was relaxed. Clearly popular with locals and holiday makers alike, we noted a number of returning customers and the place was fully booked later that evening (very large groups of locals) which is a clear indication of the quality of this...
